Front beach is fairly drab except if you have little kids.

Front beach is fairly drab except if you have little kids. Not much parking. Shops are all boring designer galleries and clothing for older women and not much else at all - which explains the demographic of this posh and overtly wealthy area. Nothing much to do outside of the beach and pub. 2 gigantic trendy pubs. Ocean beach is great but like all Victorian beaches, extremely rugged and windy. It's a great place to stay to visit Portsea which has a much better beach experience with a great pier and absolutely massive pub with great atmosphere.

Sorrento is a small but busy town with lots of shops and restaurants. I cooked most of the time but did have great fish and chips from Fish Fetish, a tasty Vanilla Slice from The Vanilla Slice Cafe and ice cream and smoothies from Mubble. Parking spaces in the main street (Ocean Beach Rd) are hard to find most of the time except after 1800 hours.

Sorrento was a great stop along our way.

Sorrento was a great stop along our way. Very nice village atmosphere. Great boutiques - both male and female. We ate at the Italico, Stringers and The Baths all serving lovely food. The staff at all three restaurants were very friendly and helpful. We were there for the dawn Anzac ceremony which was very beautiful. Coffee afterwards at Stringers which, I think, opened especially for the people attending the ceremony. There are great walking paths here. The Mornington Penninsula National Park is absolutely worth a visit. You could spend a day or two here exploring the walks, the Quarantine Centre and Fort Nepean.

Fabulous Icecream, nice boutiques even with a lot of famous brand, bookshop, Cafe shops and Galleries. People are kind here and the old houses with bricks are beautiful. You can eat some lovely Sushi in Sushi shop, also have other choices e.g. noodle and pizza I think. And lot of wine shops as well. It's a quiet tourist town you can see many senior citizens there enjoy life. Driving to Sorrento is a pleasure as it's very good quality and easy to drive on the freeway. Only about 7 - 8 km away there's a lovely town Rye nearby, a lot more food there with white Sand beach and Camping site.

Loved sitting in the Sorrento Hotel having a refreshing Ale and some nibblies in front of a warm fire. Enjoyed the shopping and food from the local eateries. Beautiful Beaches in and around Sorrento with easy access vis the Queenscliff Ferry if you travel the Great Ocean Road and an easy commute to Melbourne

The motel room was very clean and quite large. Also outside was nice and tidy with lovely green grass in the front of each room. Parking was for free and right outside the room which is perfect. We also liked the location as it was close walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants in Sorrento. Staff was friendly and helpful. We ordered breakfast of scrambled eggs on bread in room on our last day and it was delicious, cafe style quality.

The staff member who greeted us and escorted us to reception from the car park was very good. She also took us to our rooms and personally explained everything. I didn’t see anyone else being afforded this service so was made to feel very special. The spa and our treatments were exceptional. The renovation to the hotel was beautiful. The pizza we ordered at Beer Garden was perfectly wood fired and very tasty. The wait was worth it!

We were left with ample supplies -fruits-more than we could eat. Attention to specific requirements was a bonus. Cleanliness was super and we felt safe specially in the current climate of Covid. Walking distance to the center of Sorrento. Very quiet neighborhood and felt very safe to go for walks.

Good value for Sorrento, basic but satisfactory accommodation mostly used by young people working locally We had no problems and enjoyed our stay but given that most of the residents were under 30 there is the possibility of late noise and partying - great if that is what you want!

Great location for a wedding in Sorrento, plenty of parking and basic enough to tide us over for a single nights stay. I wouldnt rule out staying here again if needed.
