the town was very quiet when we visited It is only a small town but has adequate shops for provisions and a few good options for dining which were all easy walking from our accommodation. easy for a day trip to Freycinet National Park and many great wineries nearby
Did not like this place at all. The pictures on the Web page does not reflect the smelly old dark brick and crappy bathroom facilities. Even outside my room entrance was dirty and only needed a blower to try to make it tidy. Only if there was a bit of pride and care by the hosts. Will not consider this place again ever and happy to camp in a tent instead. Happy face but crappy condition. Anyone looking at pictures please note, pictures look far better than reality.
I liked Swansea very much, friendly people and good food. The weather was fantastic and just taking in the serenity was what we were there for. Swansea is close to other areas as well. We visited Coles Bay and Bicheno and plan to go again to see what we missed.
Swansea is a lovely little spot that is an integral part of the east coast experience - and should be enjoyed as such. Its good for a short or overnight stay thats in easy reach of other parts of the east coast.
Swansea is a relaxing, slow pace. Groceries are regular prices, no gouging. Opp shops are a real surprise. Post office even, full of interesting items. Just down past gas station a small organic cafe before golf club (on the bay). Views, walks, attractions and beaches. Down the other end toward highway, Bark Mill Bakery... really, do it. Online centre and library (helpful history). Recommend Swanea for the need-a-breather weekend. Gardens are lovely. Easy to walk around. No strenuous hills. Full of friendly and kind people. Fish, eat, walk, sleep, boat, shop, browse, rest, swim, foreshore plagrounds and parks, watch whales in the bay (not a promise but tis the season, you never know.)
Enjoyed the much quieter Spikey Beach as a beach to visit. We had wanted to visit Kate's Berry Farm and Melshell but unfortunately closed. We simply enjoyed a picnic dinner and our hosts supplied breakfast.

Staying at this properly definitely gave meaning to a “home away from home”. The rooms were exceptionally clean, with great facilities like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, filled water jug etc. The bed was cozy, views were excellent and hosts very pleasant and welcoming! A great place to stay in Swansea, close to everything you could need and a relaxing place to stay. I wish I could have stayed longer :) thank you for a pleasant stay!
Swansea
Terrific little hotel. Quaint and comfy with that old seaside cottage feel but all the mod cons. Had a room on the front and enjoyed a late dinner of takeaway pizza (from the Barkmill Tavern) and drinks on our little deck. Amazing breakfast of cereal, juice, yoghurt, fruit, cooked eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, coffee - so good. Such a friendly and welcoming host, thank you for a great stay. Highly recommend
Swansea
Paid for an upgrade to a two bedroom room which was wonderful. Right on the doorstep of the water and roomy with great facilities. RSL at Swansea needs an honourable mention as a great place to have a meal.
Swansea
Bed was excellent. View was terrific. Quiet (other than rolling surf). The location is isolated (which can be a good thing), although the 12km drive into Swansea might get a bit tiring if done too often.

Swansea
House is amazing, pictures don’t do it justice. Anything you need or think of throughout the stay, was there. Everything has been thought through and provided. Hosts are super responsive. Getting the key was so easy, enter, up the drive, done, as opposed to AirBnB which is more like a quest and involves clues and wizards. Really appreciated that. Amazing location, great base, so glad I found it as it was superior to all my other choices. Thought about buying it - definitely didn’t want to leave. Caters so well for 6 people, all with separate quarters, purpose built really.
Swansea
Loved the beach house aesthetic and the proximity to the beach
