We stayed in Gypsy Rose, an old converted transport truck permanently parked on the property. It was quirky but comfortable and fun. The little side balcony was lovely for breakfast and our evening glass of wine.

A perfect stop-over prior to our visit to Freycinet National Park and the Wineglass Bay. It was surprisingly big and tidy. We enjoyed the sound of wave overnight. Good value for money. We would probably stay longer if we did not schedule the next accommodation.

Visiting Swansea in August we hadn’t expected such beautiful weather. It was sunny with no wind. Our accommodation was very quiet. Almost no traffic. Sat on our deck and enjoyed the antics of the birds while drinking a sparkling wine from Craigie Knowe Vineyard. Although rather rustic the tasting wines were superb. From there to Milton for lunch where the wood heater made a cosy spot for wine tasting. Lunch was Japanese influenced octopus and scallops, both delicious and unusual. Set off early next morning to tour the coast north of Swansea. Could have stayed two nights.

Swansea is a lovely, relaxed seaside town.

Swansea is a lovely, relaxed seaside town. Our group's main interest is in competing in the annual Swansea Bowling Carnival where you meet old and new friends. There is a feeling of serenity in the town and the great sea views contribute to the relaxing vibe.

The bark mill tavern had delicious food and I am celiac so was very happy with my gf meal. I also loved we could see sheep over the road as we ate our meal. However we could not find much of a choice of gf foods in the area. The general store was interesting to look at but i found Swansea to need just a few more shops. It was a pretty little seaside town.

The people were lovely.

The people were lovely. All the little boutique shops and cafes create a relaxing and calming atmosphere. We stayed at the Beach Chalets which are excellent and had dinner at the Bark Mill Taven, where the food was lovely and staff were very friendly and helpful. Bark Mill Bakery also does a mean coffee.

We were just there for a night but it’s a cozy little cabin. We enjoyed our stay there. Apart from the added task of drying the washed dishes and rearranging them back in the cabinet, everything else was fine. The host also left us some cookies and chocolates as freebies, liked the thought!

I liked our hotel, the Swansea Motor Inn, and the cafe across the street from it. I liked being so close to the ocean - just across a small parking area. I liked being close to the Freycinet Peninsula and Coles Bay. It was simply a lovely area.

I loved the view of the location, that the cabin was clean and comfortable, and that it felt like we had no one around us, even though all other cabins were booked! We were able to have some cheese and a drink on the viewing platform near the beach and then come back at night and stargaze (bring your jumpers or a blanket!). Really lovely place and only a shortish drive into Swansea for great food!

The location - right near the beach, walking distance to the iga, walking distance to everything! The staff were very friendly (ever rang us when we had forgotten our drinks), the rooms were good for the age of the hotel. The family that own this inn are amazing and we will be back when back in Tasmania!

Swansea is gorgeous. Our room overlooked the town bowling green, which added to the vibe. Dinner at the Wellington was everything we wanted it to be. Spent our time hiking, eating oysters, drinking Tassie wine.

Clean room, bigger than I thought for small caravan park. Had everything we needed. No verandah but we sprawled onto the grass but that was fine. Very close to town, right on the beach for a morning swim.

Magical property right on the ocean! The property is so well thought out - cosy cottages, great facilities and gardens and the restaurant is some of the best food in tassie.
