It’s in a lovely location right on the water front. There are restaurants nearby which was handy.

The motel was close to the Mater Hospital where we had an appointment. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is nothing we could find that we could complain about. The breakfast was very good. We travel to Townsville often and we will certainly stay at this motel again.

The motel was great. The meals were great that I had.
The motel was great. The meals were great that I had. Between the Sun Hotel, Palmer Collective and Lone Star for main meals it would be hard to choose the best. I went from Rockhampton to Townsville by train to watch my grandson play his first rep cricket matches. So getting around Townsville for me was easy, as my son in law's mother had her car and the 5 of us drove around in it. On Sunday we went for a drive along the Strand and so some other places along the way. We stopped at Lone Star for lunch and we couldn't complain about the meal or the price. Actually I don't think we had anything to complain about all weekend.

The friendliest town and perfect weather , the Strand is the place to be. Townsville seems to be the place always overlooked by holiday makers, Great choice of restaurants overlooking Magnetic Island. People flock to Cairns in my opinion I hosed Townsville a very friendly place.

Townsville is a great place to chill out.
Townsville is a great place to chill out. It’s not commercialised but has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Anywhere down the strand is just gorgeous, take a couple of nights to relax over at magnetic island, eat your way around so many places that range from laid back eateries to fine dining. Hire a car and explore to riverway, billabong sanctuary, the museum, the mt Stuart lookout or if your keen walk up castle hill (or drive) or wonder down paleranda. It’s a place full of free activities especially for families to just enjoy the outdoors.

Trip up Castle Hill good.
Trip up Castle Hill good. Strand excellent for atmosphere, views and food outlets. Handy to Magnetic Island - which is a trip in itself.
Wouldn't want to be in Townsville mid summer! Cowboys football ground excellent and they beat the "Storm".

Townsville is delightful and very tourist friendly, there are good accommodation options, lots and lots of bars and first-class eateries and restaurants around the marina as well as the beach road strip - great for sunsets and sundowners. We really enjoyed our stay and will return.

The Vale Hotel is always our first choice for overnighters in Townsville on our way further up north as it is located on one of Townsville's arterial roads, is also close to a major shopping centre, a pharmacy, and if you're inclined to wet your whistle, a bottle shop. We love the security of a gated complex and the convenience of a short walk to delicious meals at the bistro. The beds are also super comfortable!
It's in a great location, in Townsville's premier dining, drinking and boutique shopping street I believe. It's also just a couple of minutes or so walk to Flinders Street, the main street of Townsville. Ferry wharves, the casino, the Cowboys home stadium, The Strand and Castle Hill are all fairly close. It's a classy place to stay and they gave me a voucher for a free drink.
The room itself was excellent, including the view, the location is great if you want to be near the city center, but that’s not where you want to be in Townsville, it’s a ghost town with the strand being the optimal area which was only a short walk from the hotel. Staff were great.
We checked in after hours which was an easy process. The location of the hotel cannot be beaten as it is central to all activates and eateries on the Strand.
