The Brazilian city of Maceió is surrounded by lush vegetation, tranquil and crystalline waters, coral banks, and white sandy beaches adorned with coconut trees. Capital of the Alagoas state, it owes its name to the word the natives used to call the natural springs that form lagoons in the area.
