Kasane is a small town, felt safe to walk the main street and enjoy the local people and sites. The Chobe River Cottages felt safe and secure. The cottages are spacious, attractive and very comfortable. The tropical garden surrounding them is lovely. Just a 5-minute walk away is a restaurant that serves great food and bakery items (located next to the Kalahari Tours office). The grocery store is about 5 minutes away. We enjoyed our 3-night stay and would have enjoyed staying longer. Perfect way to return to civilization after a 6-week over-landing trip through South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. Highly recommended to take a boat cruise (or 2!) on the Chobe River.

Lovely, well-maintained tropical garden grounds. Spacious cottage, well stocked kitchen, nicely furnished rooms. Very quiet for sleeping, very comfortable bed. Close (about a 5 minute walk) to a good restaurant (Coffee Buzz) and grocery store (Spar). Highly recommend this lodging!

While I was there, I loved Kasane. But the border crossing back into Zimbabwe ruined my trip. When I entered Botswana, I accidentally failed to get a stamp on the Botswana side of immigration. So when I left, I was required to pay a fee of 1,000 Pula, about $80, which seemed very reasonable under the circumstances. (It could easily have been three times as much, whatever they wanted, but it was only $80.) But after paying the fee, I needed to wait for a receipt for my $80. Also waiting were all the other people in my van. This receipt took FOREVER. Not because I was angry - at first I was relaxed and polite. After 20 minutes, I began begging the authorities - I did not care about this receipt, the fee was already paid, please let me leave. They would not let me leave without the receipt. After 40 minutes of watching two people SLOWLY creating and recreating my receipt on their computer, I began to beg more aggressively. If I had been alone, I would not have cared, but to have a van full of people waiting forever because I screwed up when I entered the country drove me crazy. My begging turned to anger. I paid the fee so long ago, how can you make all of us wait for this useless receipt? The authorities did not care that a van of people were waiting, they did not care that the lady creating the receipt had no idea what she was doing - the rules were the rules. When the receipt finally arrived, it was only one copy for myself. No copies were created for them. Sheer madness. As soon as it was given to me, I crumpled it into a ball and threw it into the nearby trash. One official surely contemplated arresting me for throwing the receipt away, but they let me leave. Before this happened, I had loved Botswana. But after this painful and stupid process at the border, I would never return to this insane place again.

I enjoyed Game drive and Boat cruise most!!😍 My only problem is that, there is no Local food/ cuisine Resturant around, No local fish restaurant found, only Choppies rescued us. It's easy to get around Kasane, but be careful there are lots of wild animals in the area. Victoria Falls is just an hour drive( Zimbabwe)

Kasane is very close to the Chobe National Park so convenient for both land-based game viewing and river outings. The airport is a few minutes away by road. It's a safe small town that is very focused on tourism with may lodges and hotels.

Kasane is a beautiful tourist area There are a lot of choices of restuarants where you can dine at. I really enjoyed every area we visited in Kasane My kids loved the boat cruise and game drive and visited Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe as is close by Kasane and they really enjoyed their time there. We even visited the Botswana Zambia Bridge, we really had an awesome time there.
