Gananoque is a very lovely picturesque town with an amazing ,well kept waterfront and area. .It has several well manicured parks, unique shops , art galleries , and many wonderful restaurants with a great variety of cuisines, several tourist attractions with the Bolt Castle Cruise at the top of the list. IT is one of the most relaxing mini vaca's for us. Definitely a do again short trip for us...1 to a few days. Top attraction ...the warmth of the people who serve the public, in every venue!!!! Thank you all.

Beautiful location and an amazing home. We felt like we were in a luxury home along the river. The ceilings were high, the bed very comfortable, the bathroom exquisite, heating/cooling work exceptionally well, parking was safe and right next to the home, and breakfast was excellent. We had a shared refrigerator and microwave just outside our door. We asked about charging our EV and were told that the owners have a Tesla and we could use their Tesla Wall Connector out front anytime we wished. Outstanding opportunity. We walked along the roadway below the "mansion" and thoroughly enjoyed seeing the variety of homes. Access to the river was not available, due to the waterfront being privately owned, but that was not a problem for us. We drove to Gananoque and found a wonderful small town, with amazing floral displays, plus an excellent restaurant (The Purple House). We were able to watch our pizza cooked in the outdoor pizza ovens, and also saw the owner/chef pick basil and other herbs fresh from their garden right next to the outdoor seating. We would not hesitate to stay here again. We can not recommend it enough.

Gananoque is a lovely little town but moreso in the peak seasons. We were there in mid November so many amenities in the area were closed for the season (helicopter rides, 1000 Islands access). There are small shops, restaurants and of course, the waterfront for those liking to walk the town. Would be a wonderful place to visit through the peak season.

didn't see much. First night was pouring rain couldn't see any markings on the houses etc. Then I had to go home early because of a family emergency and didn't get a credit for the unused night?!

1000 Islands Playhouse is a wonderful venue. Lots of areas to check in town, town harbour, boat museum. Good areas for bird watching and launch point for travelling on the 1000 Island Parkway. Avoid the hotels near the 401 and 1000 Island Parkway, Ramada Provincial Inn especially. The Holiday Inn Express would be exception as set back away from the traffic noise. Best to stay in town at B&B or hotel.

Beds comfy and room clean. Not so good regarding wait staff and food. Wine glasses had lipstick marks on them and when 3 of us asked for clean glasses we received "replacement" glasses that looked pretty much the same. Then our nachos arrived and the portion was probably enough for 1 person. There were 5 of us. Saw a plate of nachos served to another table the next day and it was about 3 times larger than what we were served. So either a cranky server or kitchen ran out of nachos. Either way not impressed.
