We enjoyed the waterfront parks and the Gord Downie pier.
We enjoyed the waterfront parks and the Gord Downie pier. Also there was some good outlet shopping and mall shopping. Since it was only late April, a number of attractions were not open yet. Also, most places were dog friendly and staff came out to say “bring your dog in”. But we would suggest signage indicating dog friendly or not. ( A simple sign on each entrance to malls, for example.). We had our own car, so easy to get around, and no problem to find parking.

Surprisingly there were a lot of very good and high end restaurants. I was not expecting it during April. The 1000 island cruise was ok but not really something that you “must do” or experience. Recommended you take the ferry to Wolf Island (free) just for the ride (stay on and don’t get off at Wolf Island). The walking track along the river was a highlight. The trolly car was also worthwhile. You get to see a lot of the old buildings on the tour. Kingston history is fascinating. You can also go and walk around the University as well.

Kingston carries itself with the poise of a bigger city while remaining relatively small. Lots of Gothic Revival architecture for the art nerds (I include myself on that list) and a friendly atmosphere made Kingston a fun visit. Also some really good bars and restaurants for a town of its size. A worthwhile visit if traveling between Montreal, Toronto, or Ottawa.

There are great walking trails along the waterfront and the downtown area was less than 10 minute walking distance and felt safe in the evening. The shops were varied and there were plenty of restaurants, bars and pubs to choose from.

It is a very walkabout city. Waterfront trail is a lovely place to stroll. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the downtown core. Lovely architecture in the old residential section. A few historical sites to visit, although open only seasonally.

The city of Kingston is so littered with homeless peoples garbage everywhere spray paint on almost every corner and a general public are smoking so much carfentanol and enphetameins and if that isnt enough Kingston possessed no family values from city council on down and the cheif of police is responsible for nothing but a 460 million dollar budget and the university students acue one million in fines annually for their wild parties
Check in went smoothly and early check in was accommodated. The room was spacious with a good bathroom and closet. Express check out was provided. Location is excellent for access to downtown Kingston.
The very professional and polite staff at breakfast this morning makes me think highly of this hotel.
I will be returning to this hotel when I return to Kingston.
