Located on a quiet oceanfront area with a beautiful view of Okeover Wharf, about 10 minute drive to Lund (nearest grocery store other restaurants besides the Laughing Oyster). We stayed in the Shannagh’s Sweet Escape cabin which was new and smelled like fresh wood the moment we talked in. Scott and Shannagh, who manage both the Laughing Oyster and cabins, were very friendly.

Shannaghs Sweet Escape is a recently renovated chalet in Powell River where guests can make the most of the private beach area and free bikes.

This place is amazing and has so much history ! We absolutely loved this place! The stair case in this hotel is beautiful , the wood work and character in this place is perfect. If you live old buildings with lots of history , you will love this place as much as we did . We will be back one day. And Charlie is such a great guy and very informative, thank you Charlie .

Overall there was very little to disappoint about this brand new hotel. Facilities were very nice, rooms spacious, beds extremely comfortable and a decent size mini fridge with actual freezer compartment for ice paks.
