Boasting panoramic views of Lunenburg’s historic waterfront, Rum Runner Inn is located across the street from the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in the center of Old Town Lunenburg. Great location, friendly staff, quiet room and the beautiful view of the harbor
Featuring views of the Atlantic Ocean, this motel is less than a 2-minute walk from the Atlantic Ocean and Masons Beach. Free Wi-Fi is provided in all rooms. Owner was very accommodating. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and cute. Enjoyed walking across the street to small beach and seeing wildlife on the surrounding ponds. Also, lots of chairs and picnic tables outside to enjoy the weather.
This inn is located in Old Town Lunenburg UNESCO World Heritage site. Free Wi-Fi and a refrigerator are offered in each guest room. Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic is 492 feet away. First, a caveat. I understood that I'd booked an accessible room but discovered that registration was one floor down a steep and narrow staircase from the entry level and the room would be two flights up. I'm mobility impaired and this was impossible, as I explained on the phone to the receptionist on the floor below. The manager immediately resolved the situation, assigned me a beautiful corner room on the entry level, helped me carry in my belongings, brought my room keys to me so I didn't have to go downstairs. And, most incredibly, though they don't normally have room service, they brought me an excellent dinner from their very good restaurant (again, a flight down that I couldn't manage). The staff of the hotel rescued me from what could have been a desperate situation and I'm very grateful to them for their kindness. This was the second time this trip that Booking.com confirmed that I'd have an accessible room in a heritage hotel which was NOT the case (in the first instance, a modest change was made but it was exceedingly difficult to manage even the one flight of steps in the Quebec hotel but better than two flights with no hope of refund on a fairly lengthy stay). The first time, I thought it was a communication glitch; now that it's happened twice I have to think Booking.com is somehow not making things clear either to me, the customer or the hotel, who is left having to deal with my expectations (and confirmation of accessible rooms).
Just 115 feet from the waterfront of Lunenburg Harbor in Nova Scotia, this turn-of-the-century bed and breakfast offers all rooms with a kitchenette. Room was nicely decorated. Comfortable bed, nice shower. A little sitting area outside the room provided a great place to sit and read as to not disturb my fellow traveler. Oh. And Breakfast was delicious-eggs cooked to order along with fresh fruit and other goodies.
This historic 1888 Queen Anne-style mansion in Lunenburg is 3 blocks from the boat docks. Guests can have a drink on the Admiral’s Deck or in the Drawing Room at this fully licensed property. Views from deck were great. Within walking distance from waterfront and harbor. Room was great.
Located in the heart of Lunenburg, the Salt Shaker Deli & Inn features spacious accommodations overlooking Lunenburg Harbor. Free WiFi is available. We normally avoid B&Bs -- I like more privacy and don't want to hear other guests. But this B&B was wonderful -- each of the four rooms was occupied the night we stayed, but we didn't hear anyone. We ate a fantastic dinner in the restaurant just below our room. View of the waterfront was lovely, king bed super comfortable (high, but step stool provided), wifi worked great. Locally sourced shampoo and soap in the bathroom. We just loved our stay and would choose Salt Shaker again. P.S. Definitely check out No. 9 coffee across the street for breakfast: best baked goods we had the entire trip!
Located just 3.7 mi from the town of Mahone Bay, this guest accommodations offers a private strip of beach on the bay. Each room features individual décor and free Wi-Fi. Breakfast was the best. Homemade eggs each day and all different. Joanna was a most gracious host and excellent cook
Lunenburg has world heritage status for good reason. The old town is amazing...but it's made for young, able bodied people who can climb steep hills, walk some distance from whatever street parking they can find, and who can manage gorgeous heritage hotels that don't have elevators. I was exceedingly lucky to find a disabled parking spot on the street (only one of two that I spotted in the old town) that was very close to my hotel, and I was able to secure a room on the entry level because of the kindness of the staff. Good restaurants, to be sure - but make a reservation to be sure you can get in!
LIKE MOST HARBOUR TOWNS ON A HILL WITH MAIN TOURIST ATTRACTIONS LOWER STREET, NEXT STREET UP MAINLY ACCOMODATIONS & DINING, NEXT STREET UP SHOPPING. SHOPPING IS SPREAD ALL OVER THE PLACE WHICH MAKES IT DIFFICULT, ESPECIALLY FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES. WEAR COMFORTABLE SHOES. SOME SHOPS & RESTAURANTS CLOSED. ATE AT THE DOCKSIDE, GREAT WAITRESS, FOOD ADEQUATE.
two days in Lunenburg is perfect. It gives you time to walk around the waterfront town and go to the museum on the water front as well. We did the haunted walking tour. it was at night and you get history and see the town from different angle as well. The church is gorgeous at night. We spent couple of hours at Mahone Bay which is close to Lunenburg. Lots of important history to Canada in this area.
Just walking around Lunenburg is a great experience ….so many restaurants and little shops. We had a lovely meal at the old Fish Factory and the bill was very reasonable. The Savvy Sailor serves an excellent breakfast and is always busy…go early as it starts to fill up around 9:30 am. The Knot Pub is always fun and has good pub fare. The Bluenose Golf Course is challenging if you have never played there before….it is wide open and we found it difficult to know where the pin was located. A little shop called Wild Elements home expressions located on Montague Street is absolutely delightful.
Lovely town with lots of great locally owned shops, excellent restaurants especially Lincoln St Food! Beautiful historic architecture and buidings well kept up , very colourful. We went sailing on the Eastern Star one afternoon and it was a wonderful way to see the town , harbour and coastline from the water. The crew was helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Great lunch at Rosebay Bistro!
Lunenburg, is a very picturesque town, we had a very nice light lunch in the Dockside Inn and restaurant, In the evening we had our evening meal in the Grand Banker which is also a micro brewery with all kinds of beers to choose from. Both facilities are in compliance with the Covid 19 rules. Lunenburg is very easy to get around on foot which is recommended as its facilities are close together, some of the streets can be quite steep.
We stayed in Rum Runner for 3 nights in the beginning of June and this was the perfect location for doing excurtions and get an impression of the region. Very easy check in and out and the guy in the reception was very friendly. Room and beds very comfortable. View of the harbor was fine. Also very central location close to restaurants. I can recommend this place. Thanks a lot for a nice stay in this Hotel.
Clean and comfortable room with really nice bed linens. Huge bathroom with a nice shower and soaking tub. Wonderful breakfast made to order by a very friendly owner. Loved the smoked salmon with poached eggs and delicious fresh fruit. Amazing location on the Main Street in Lunenburg and close to the waterfront. Good amenities in the room with kitchenette and good WiFi.
The orange cottage we stayed in was clean, A/C worked well, and wifi was strong. Beautiful views and great location, we stayed for 3 nights and got to explore a lot. The property is only 5 mins from Lunenburg and there is so much to see other than that. Simply drive 20 mins and you can explore so much more! Definitely a nice, low key vacation spot.
Thank you to the hosts, Rita & Michael who were so friendly and helpful and extra kind to my dog. This is a lovely hotel in Lunenburg. It is my second stay in recent years and we can’t wait to return again soon. As well, the restaurant next door, Rascals Run has the best burritos I have ever tasted and the staff is also very friendly.
The Salt Shaker Deli & Inn is a cute little stay in Lunenburg NS. My room was very cozy and quiet, and felt like a home away from home. I had a lovely view of the waterfront, the bed was super comfortable and there are tons of nice shops and restaurants within walking distance, as well as the restaurant right downstairs.
Wow this house is amazing. The decor and finishing are just beautiful. The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was huge. The location is ideal - easy walking distance to anything you want in Lunenburg. The breakfast was homemade and delicious. The hosts were helpful and friendly.
Love the location of this hotel. The value is excellent. Staff is friendly. Absolutely staying again when I am coming back to Lunenberg.
Views from deck were great. Within walking distance from waterfront and harbor. Room was great.
