Having a roof over our heads is about the best thing I could say about this hotel. Everything was very old. Uncomfortable beds. The rooms need upgrading. Very nice setting though. It could be something very special but needs work.
To teview this you need to review Cape Breaton. This is not Toronto, Calgary, Ottawa or Montreal. If you expect those luxuries then dont come. This place gives you a bed, food and two great hosts. Not the Royal York, bur its Cape Breton. Connie and Chuck have created a genuine and real experience. Loved talking to these two.
Two or three excellent restaurants we ate at Belvue and Sunset as the dinning room for dinner was not open yet at the motel. We are biking the trail, easy to get there and a good start to our day across the park!
We drove to the Harbour and found the beautiful beach - a lovely surpeise. We had a conversation with locals at breakfast - charming, nice, and if they eat there you know the food is good. ( Duck Cove Inn )
We had a lovely stay and the area around Margaree harbour provided a wonderful and peaceful couple of days after a busy trip to that point! We received a very warm welcome and our hosts made sure we had everything we needed.
The Inn we stayed at was very pleasant. Unfortunately, there are not many options for dinner in the area. Option A didn't have room for us, since we didn't make a reservation. Option B was poor quality food for the price...really only good at making pizzas.
Older motel with lots of history that has been kept up very well. The view is very pretty.
