NetherlandsAfter a long day of travel and a delayed ferry, it was wonderful to land in a neat, luxurious, comfortable hotel room in a recently renovated building equipped with all amenities, in a prime location right next to the harbor and with an excellent bakery for breakfast nearby. We were warmly welcomed by Sibo and had a very relaxing stay. We also appreciated that we could leave the car in the parking lot after check out while going out for (late) breakfast.

Such a warm, colourful place witb lots of good food and...
Such a warm, colourful place witb lots of good food and coffee! 32 Lakes has great coffee and baked goods. The attention to detail is 👌 I love the heritage buildings and the beaches. Check out the Bygone Parlour to indulge your inner child. The homes are colourful and it is really a lovely coastal town. I could picture living there! 😄

I absolutely LOVE Powell River
I absolutely LOVE Powell River
Every time I visit I see the most incredible sunsets and wildlife.
There are 2 trails along the waterfront that you can take.
In one direction you can go into the forest where resident squirrels will come right up to you begging for peanuts! I chose not to feed them, as I don't really think this is good for them. But it sure is cute!
In the other direction from the ferry terminal you can walk along a sea wall and catch glimpses of sea lions, seals, sometimes whales, heron, eagles and this time I was lucky and saw a family of Canadian Geese with 3 tiny babies waddling behind! Only days old!

PR seemed very laid back, traffic moved pleasantly throughout the town without disruption, everything seemed so easy to get too, there were several restaurants to choose from on our short stay. We will be returning

As we were on a motorcycle trip with a specific agenda it didn't allow for extra time to be spent exploring Powell River but definitely a return visit is in the future plans. It's a lovely town and our accommodation was fabulous!!

Powell River is a "jumping off point" for outdoor...
Powell River is a "jumping off point" for outdoor enthusiasts and has loads of natural beauty. The town itself is nothing special, but the local people have a welcoming, casual and unpretentious vibe that is really charming. The Old Courthouse Inn and its Edie Rae Cafe are a slice of the Victorian past. Magpie's has delicious breakfasts with a Ukrainian flare.

Powell River is a pleasant surprise once you get there by ferry. It has charm and a heritage feel to the lovely old neighbourhoods. There is history worth noting. The people were very friendly, it was easy to find dining. I wouldn't have guessed 'Snickers' to be a Greek restaurant but we gave it a try. The portions were huge! And the ferry ride over to Vancouver Island was right in the middle of town and easy to access.

The location is very good, close to the harbour, to many restaurants and shops. The view from the motel over the water all the way to Vancouver Island and the nearby islands is spectacular, as are the sunsets!
The kitchenette has all the necessary appliances and is well designed, easy to use. There is a good manual in the room to review the rules of the house and the use of TV, air conditioner and other electronic devices.
The staff is friendly and helpful.

We were upgraded to the Penthouse suite, which was amazing! However, all the suites are beautiful, comfy, spacious, and homey. Hosts were welcoming and a pleasure to meet. Lovely walk to the beach with beautiful round rocks. Short drive to Powell River. However, we ordered in our dinners as location was so wonderful! Salt and Pepper Pizza place, delicious! We sure could have stayed longer!

The grounds were well maintained, and the property was pet friendly. Very accessible off the highway and it was close to town. The suite had a kitchenette with a full size fridge was great.
