Scenery of Shuswap Lake and surrounding mountains is worth the visit. It's a small city, relaxed, friendly. A few good places to eat. Good golf courses within 15-30 min of downtown. Great for boaters and swimming in the summer.
Very less staff, friendly, not professional very casual, housekeeping needs major changes, it's a do not visit again, and very high pricing. No value at all Must eat at Cafe Tasse and Cantina. Walk on the wharf and enjoy lake Shuswap
I've only ever came to Salmon arm to events such as the Roots & Blues Festival, this time the fair and have been for a couple of local shows. It's a fun little town, I'd still like to visit the downtown waterfront area. This last trip we brought my two year old nephew and saw that Salmon Arm is home to the tallest jungle gym/play center. Next trip we could love to bring him there.
unfortunately our trip was cut short and we were unable to stroll around downtown where the stores are unique and were told a visit to the wharf is a must. PJ's is a good place for breakfast and the Barley Station Brewpub is a great place to have supper. Also don't leave without a stop at the Shuswap Pie Company to pick up a pie or two. We will definately be back next year.
I liked that it was easy to find right off the highway. Close to drugstore and grocery store if you need to make a quick stop before hitting the road again. A good place to stop for an overnight if you need a rest before another day of long driving. I would not choose it for a vacation stay as the rooms need updating and the pillows are uncomfortable.
Salmon Arm is nice, with a small town feel, and beach access nearby. The stores in the downtown area have great character, and we enjoyed all the restaurants we sampled. We traveled to some of the local wineries, sampling goods from a local dairy, farmers' market, and fruit stands. The views off the beaten track are spectacular, and give a good sense of the wealth of different landscapes that surround Salmon Arm. Take a short walk to see Margaret Falls, or walk along the beach areas for a break. A short stay provides a nice respite from the hectic pace of regular city life.
“Friendly hosts with a wealth of local information, a lovely quiet place just outside of Salmon Arm with a lovely backyard- our loft room was very spacious, clean and comfortable, esp the king bed”
“Great hotel very clean and friendly staff highly recommend this stop.”
“Perfectly clean and comfortable, standard motel accommodation. Minutes from beautiful hiking and downtown Salmon Arm”
“Great breakfast, large comfortable clean room, comfortable bed. Even though this hotel us located between the highway and the train tracks, it was quiet in our room! Staff were friendly and helpful.”
“This is a very pet-friendly hotel. The staff is great and it is a nice, quiet hotel.”
