Offering spectacular views of the Swiss and French Alps, Hôtel Le Grand Chalet is a family-run, historic house from 1896, located 164 feet from the ski slopes in Leysin.

The outdoor jacuzzi overlooking the stunning mountains, the drinks professionally served, the sauna, the beautiful rustic chalet, the amazing rooms, the very comfortable beds, and of course, the amazing variety at breakfast were all exceptional. I can't think of a better place to stay, to be honest. We tried the food at the restaurant terrace (also amazing view), and it was absolutely delicious. I'll go back soon, I'm sure!

Apartment Leysin - Swiss Alps offers accommodations in Leysin, 20 miles from Train Station Montreux and 10 miles from Aigle Castle.

The apartment had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were comfy, the shower lovely and hot. The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed. Having the raclette and fondue pan available was awesome so we stayed in one evening and cooked. The apartment is in walking distance of the shops, supermarket and swimming pool.

Nice resort, a bit small, good for beginners, not too busy, cool snow park, relatively affordable (for Swiss standards), almost no drag lifts (in Leysin itself). Unfortunately it was too warm when I was there (February 2020) so the snow was not really good, but other than that it's great for a long weekend.

I was in Leysin, Switzerland for a week of snow skiing.

I was in Leysin, Switzerland for a week of snow skiing. There are several very nice restaurants, hotels and gift shops in this Swiss village. I mailed several gifts from the post office, which is conveniently located in the middle of the village . I rode the mountain train up from Aigle, Switzerland. There is a free bus service to travel around the area. I rented snow skis at a shop right across from the Gondola base station.

    Leysin is incredible for skiing.

Leysin is incredible for skiing. Maybe not if your a complete beginer but just going up the ski lift is a must even if you don’t ski up the mountains. The views are incredible and the restaurant is lush. Tabogganing Park is a day trip as the walk is lovely and the actual tabogganing is about of fun especially for kids. The train station is very good for finding out information. There is apparently car hire available for about £60 per day at the car garage. We used trains and buses which were easy to use and always on time to get to places like the glacier 3000 (allow plenty of time) and Les Bains De Lavey natural thermal outdoor pool which was well worth the trip. People in Switzerland tend to be indoors after dark and out early in the morning to make the most of the day. If you have a car you can get around easy and quick. Taxis are stupidly expensive. Trains lovely but time consuming. Supermarkets are sparse but so much cheaper for drinks and snacks.
