Located in a quiet area in Schaffhausen, 1969 feet from the Rhine River and 1.9 mi from the Rheinfall, the biggest waterfall in Europe, Hotel Park Villa features an à la carte restaurant serving... The breakfast was excellent. Well stocked with an overabundance of pastries, fruits, meats, cheeses, and jams. The house was really a neat design and was a step back in time. My wife and I walked through most of the floors just to look at the old design and how it was set up.

Even without visiting some of the attractions (IWC Museum, Museum Allerheiligen), Schaffhausen is worth the stay. The sceneries from the Munot and of the Rheinfall are magnificent. The old town is worth a walk with a lot of possibilities for shopping (even if you do only "window shopping").
Schaffhausen is a charming and beautiful historic town located on the banks of the river Rhine. Wonderful for relaxing and wandering the cobbled streets or along the river taking in the nearby Rheinfall waterfall at Neuhausen.
The boat trips to the Rhine Falls were spectacular. For the kids Smilestones is Switzerland in miniature and is housed in an air conditioned building next to the falls. Nearby Stein am Rhein's colourful and historic old town is brilliant but so expensive!
Was only in town for one night! Sadly it rained day of arrival and day of departure!! Did not know about the music festival. Accommodation was heavily booked. I missed the waterfall, received poor directions and also did not see any signs. Nice town overall. Would return!
The old town is beautiful as is the Rhine, which dominates the city. The surrounding countryside is wonderful. Schaffhausen is a super place to base yourself for a holiday in Northern Switzerland/ Southern Germany.
Rhine Falls are spectacular; you can take a 10-minute bus ride there from the Schaffhausen train station. We hiked around the Falls, across the bridge, and had a relaxing lunch at the schloss up the hill. The IWC watch museum has an interesting display, with audio tour available in English, and we appreciated that it was well air-conditioned as we happened to be in town during a heat wave. Nice hike up to the stairs to the Munot. If it's warm, don't miss the opportunity for a refreshing dip at the Rhybadi, a public pool that literally consists of a cage set into the Rhine River. It's a blast. Schaffhausen is full of great restaurants and shops as well.
My only comment is the first person we interacted with did not seem as friendly as the rest of the staff we interacted with. He was a bit abrupt. The diner we ate there was wonderful! Probably the best meal the entire trip. We did not go to the breakfast in the morning but it look very good. The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The hotel was a bit farther from town than I thought when I booked but we still enjoyed our stay.
This was a nice family run hotel. Do not expect luxury but this is a decent, comfortable place to stay. It is right across from the train station (turn left as you exit and walk along for about one minute) and right next to the main street. The beds were a little hard for my Mum and I but they had two mattress toppers which did the trick perfectly. So happy to recommend this place.
The room was pretty clean and comfortable. Very good breakfast. Very convenient to reach and there's parking just next to the hotel. Good lobby space, as well as a great bar to drink one or two.
The infrastructure in this hotel is largely outdated. However the location is perfect and the restaurant staff, the menu and wine selection are perfect.
The hotel is very clean and the staff welcoming. The breakfast area is at the back of the hotel with a nice outdoor patio with a lovely garden
