I highly recommend staying at this hotel! The location is fantastic and easily accessible via Didi; we took it from Guilinxi Train Station without any hassle.
Check-in was quick and straightforward. The reception staff provided us with an English tourist map and some excellent recommendations for Guilin Noodles. They even lent us a power bank to charge our phones—such a thoughtful touch! The hotel is perfectly situated: close to the Sun and Moon Pagoda yet remarkably quiet.
The hotel itself is newly renovated, impeccably clean, and features spacious, bright rooms with amazing shower facilities. A highlight was the heated toilet seat and bidet—what a luxury! I’ll definitely recommend this place to all my friends visiting from Hong Kong.
They have washing and drying facilities and provide laundry liquid as well as a lovely breakfast of both western and asian cuisine!
As a lovely gesture, the manager even gifted us some Guilin dessert crackers upon our departure.
Don’t hesitate to book your stay here! Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

My partner and I stayed in a large room with a queen bed and a tub. The room was over-all very aesthetically pleasing and had features like ac and an automatic toilet.
We enjoyed our view of the street below us and loved the automatic curtain system with black out curtains for undisturbed rest. The bath tub was great after a jam packed day of walking around and the bed was cozy for a restful night.
The hotel is within walking distance from a bunch of food and shopping, perfect for a foodie. It was also within walking distance to Elephant Hill, Sun and the Moon temple, and the remains of ancient Guilin.

桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。
桂林山水甲天下、人为保护意识差。酒店民宿管理亟待加强。临江有闲别院酒店的住宿体验如下:This hotel specializes in scamming and mistreating unsuspecting foreigners. I was placed in a room with over 60 mosquitoes and recorded video footage. Although the staff changed my room, the 2nd room also had over 60 mosquitoes. They take care of mosquitoes better than they take care of guests. The staff then just gave me an electric fly swatter and told me to "deal with it". The TV was also broken. I asked the staff about it and they claimed I "didn't know how to turn it on and was operating it wrong". Even though I kindly asked them to show me how to turn it on, they were absolutely disrespectful in their refusal. I have photo and video footage of not only mosquitoes and flies. Horrific experience, avoid this place at all costs.

Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere.
Guilin is a magical city, with beautiful views everywhere. The Prince's Palace is slightly older than the Forbidden City in Beijing and has many parts to explore. The climb to the top of the Solitary Beauty Peak at the back of Jingjiang Prince’s Palace at sunset is stunning. Karst scenery is the backdrop to a diverse and decorated skyline. Once darkness arrives, the city comes alive with lights everywhere. Glowing Bridges, boats, islands, ancient relics and the iconic Sun and Moon Temples towering over the water create a carnival for the eyes. Musicians and dancers fill the air and their joyous parades spill out along the walkways. The waterways ring the city and there are boat cruises. The boulevards downtown have wide sidewalks and are tree lined, which makes for pleasant strolling. There are something like 7 different bridges all with different scenic views of the waterways that were once part of the defense system for the ancient rulers. Guilin has been a poplular tourist destination for years, so there are a fair amount of English speakers and hip coffee houses and restaurants. It is also a jumping off point for tours to the Longji Rice Terraces, Ancient Villages and Li River cruises. All in all, we wished we had more allowed more time in Guilin as the people are charming and there were more museums and parks to explore.

Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night.
Guilin is a very colourful city, especially at night. The markets have handmade items to buy, lots of sweet mandarins and kumquats as well. The city Centre has a selection of quaint Chinese Restaurants and western bars. Many of the locals speak very good English which makes communication easier. A truly delightful place to visit with many interesting places to explore just outside the city.

Guilin is a very nice place for relaxation, people are very kind and as a small city, all activities are within walking distance. If you want to see the real beauty of Guilin, it's better to go to Xinping where you can enjoy the old town, nice mountains (drawn on 20 Yuan banknote), and river cruise. Also, you can go to the elephant trunk park (make it around the afternoon). Impression light show in Yangshou is not as expected. so you may escape it. Reed flute cave is nice medium-size one, if you have been to another one, you may escape it. All in all, it's worth to visit the city and enjoy nature. Don't forget to install Didi taxi service. It's available in English.

Guilin taxi drivers understand marketing and customer service and my Goo Hotel was efficient, but l have passed thru Guilin many times only to find the city beautiful but people in general not really very friendly.... especially if you don't speak Chinese. It is pretty clear that all the people want is your money. l have lived in Zhuhai for 18 years and avoid Guilin other than just passing through on my way to Yangshuo...or Longji Titian. LM sorry.

Very good stay in a nice hotel, very close to some of the main sightseeings in Guilin:
some 10 minutes walk to Sun and Moon pagodas, about 20 minutes to Elephant Trunk.
many restaurants around, and small shops.
Nice, quiet room.
But, most of all - very helpful, English-speaking host - Tony! Tony, thanks a lot for your help - with all your advices on how to get to rice terrasses on my own (easy, 3 hours by a local bus), with the Li river cruise and all the rest.
Highly recommended, would stay there again, if I come back to Guilin!
Beautiful rooms with comfortable seating/tea area. Bathroom really lovely too. Air con cold and very welcomed in the heat of Guilin. Cold drinks (and cold beer) available at reception, but its not far to find a convenience store selling everything. Plenty of joints to eat at nearby.
Breakfast was a great mix of east and west, the coffee good and the view very nice.
The nicest accom we have stayed at in China and Hong Kong for our budget.
I spent five days at the hotel at the end of July 2024. The staff was very nice and accommodating at all times, and going above and beyond to make sure I was welcome and felt comfortable, helping out with booking taxi trips and providing advice about food, bicycle renting, and other needs. I was happy to have chosen that place and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a getaway in Guilin.
The hotel is located within a walking distance to the Guilin Railway station and most of the attractions in the city. The beds were very comfortable, room clean. Staff speak English and was very helpful with booking all attractions, taxis etc. Very good breakfast. You get great quality for low price. So far, one of the best places we have stayed in China. Highly recommended!
Extremely warming staff and great service. The breakfast was very good, a lot of extra snacks and fruits were provided as complimentary gifts! Extraordinary view from hotel and nice experience of such a special village in Guilin.
The owner even provides taxi-calling and takeaway-ordering service to perfect our staying experience.
