It was a great overall experience for our family (2 adults, 2 teenagers). The surroundings are stunning. The rooms are basic but you need nothing more. It's very peacefull around. They serve a good breakfast, lunch and dinner. We were a little "afraid" for mosquitos but we didnt see any at all. To explore the surroundings to the max i would advice doing the LONG ATV tour. It's is about 3 hrs. Estadero los Hojos provides "arabic clothing" for the ride which adds a really coo dessert vibe experiences bur also really protects you from the heat. We did a tour from around 9.30 to 13.00 and were not sunburned at all. We did use sunscreen for our face, but the clothes offered great protection and a cool breeze during the trip. We saw a great part of the dessert, interesting stop at a paleontologist who gave us a quick tour, which was more then interesting, some refreshments stops for a drink along the way and a nice stop at the red dessert as well. We also did a horseback riding tour, wich was about an hour, with very nice view along the way The horses are well trained, we could do the trip without prior experience. If needed it is possible to arrange private transfer. We arranged to be picked up in Neiva and brought directly to the dessert. We stayed 2 nights and had a wonderfull time. I would advice anyone to go and enjoy this experience in the Tatacoa Dessert. It is as if you step in to a completely different world. An adventure well worth it!!!!
