The staff of the Orchids were great, welcoming and low key in a nice way. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and it had genuine charm. The location was bustling but the rooms were also very quiet.

The location is perfect for exploring La Candelaria and Simon Bolivar square area and a busy shopping market area. It is peaceful and equipped enough for you to prepare food if you want. There's a mini market a few doors away. The terrace has a fabulous view. The manager was very helpful with check in and arranging a taxi to the airport (even though the driver tried to charge us nearly double what we expected to pay). Hot shower was great as it's quite chilly in Bogota.

Spacious property, wonderful views, attentive staff, very relaxing, felt like we had a break from the world for while. The sound of frogs in the valley at night was special. Watching the birds swoop the valley in the day was special too. We also went on a 5 min walk to see views of moutains and waterfalls. Then came back for a massage and dip in the hot tub.

Good location for when you wanna see the more older part of the city, lots of options for tours that start almost right down the street. And your quite close to the mountain side of the city if you are planning to go up to like Monterrey Church. Bed was even for me as a quite tall person good to do and comfy. Staff was very friendly and helpfull and spoke both English and Spanish, so no worries about not being able to ask for something. Breakfast was simple but still with plenty of options to choose from. Hotel is basically one straight road down from the airport, small downside is that you are a bit close to some main roads. So depending on where the room is you can hear some traffic in the evening.
