Of course every country has it's concerns; however, Medellin was incredibly safe during our visit. I have never been to a country so clean, and comfortable. People went out of their way to speak, and make you comfortable. Medellin stole my heart, I would love to live there, better than any large city in the USA, especially the people. Saw a situation with autos which would have resulted in fist fight in the USA, instead parties smiled and moved on. Incredible people!

The Oviedo Mall, Santa Fe Mall and El Tesoro Mall. In the Oviedo Mall, Breakfas4 in the Lena and lunch in the Crepes and Waffles. With the taxi very easy to get around. For seniors like use. The people are nice , the climate is also nice. They have a variety of shops and I recommend visiting Comuna13. Next we wil visit Guatape and Cafeteros. Nice cool weather, sometimes rain. Safe although you can see a lot of poverty and beggers. A lot of different (touristic) places to visit. Locals are very polite and helpful. The cable cars are awesome. We went till the last stop, Arvi. Very nice place to spend a few hours there. Pueblito Paisa is also cozy. All the different malls. Also the place Hueco, if you like to buy good things but not expensive. Calle 70 with all it's businesses. Restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, money exchange, and lots of other things. Bandeja paisa is a very popular local food. Nice to try too. If you like flowers, then is August 2-12th the time to be in Medellín. The Flower Festival. For transport I downloaded the YANGO app and got around. Sometimes drivers don't show up, you can contact Support and they can trace the Ride and give back the money payed by card.

Awesome vibrant city! Medellin has it ALL! Fantastic shopping, dining, highlights and activities! Tesoro Mall and Santa Fe are beautiful malls. TheMuseum of Antioquia was a jewel with Botero's beautiful work! We felt safe walking around. The Botanical Garden is a must to visit (and free!). Guatape is very touristic. I would rather recommend to goto visit a Finca and spend the day there. Easy to just jump into a taxi and get to places (cheap transportation too!).AAnonymous
