Amid a forest is located Hotel de Montaña Suria, a property that offers free Wi-Fi connection throughout and complimentary breakfast with your stay. Beautiful location at the end of a very long and narrow 6 mile road. The property is well maintained and the staff very helpful. Our dinner was excellent. The room was comfortable and very clean. Local tours can be arranged upon arrival and we found the guides very friendly and knowledgeable. The valley is secluded but there are many other lodges and restaurants on the road. The hike to the nearby waterfall is challenging because the trail is not maintained but it’s worth the effort if you’re in good condition.

It's a small town where you get a nice sense of community. They don't want to grow too much so they can stay sustainable. The river going through is crystal clear. The streets are clean and the houses colorful. We didn't see a restaurant but it has 2 mini markets. We were staying at Tami Lodge where we had our meals. We saw several mountain bikers going thru the town.
Providencia is a small town that we drove through to get to Tami Lodge. We stopped at a small store to make sure we were on the right "path" and the young man in the store was quite pleasant. Turns out there are around 250 people in the valley comprising 83 families so al,out everyone is related!
Muy tranquilo, especial para descanso y para entrar en contacto con la naturaleza. Recomendado para los que les gusta el senderismo, hiking, trail, etc. Muchos miradores de aves y cataratas en la zona.
A bit off the main highways, but that's in part what makes it so enjoyable. Nowhere as crowded as Costa Rica's beaches, parks or volcanoes. Good place for a family stay. Plenty of nature trails along the river and towards the high ground. Really enjoyed our time here - wish we had seen a quetzal though!
