This was such a lovely experiece! Great beds, clean room, hot shower, lovely staff, thermal pools and an armadillo hopping about in the garden... There were also some nice short hikes/trails to waterfalls on the property. It is however (considering the distance to the hot springs and some of the trails) very convenient to have a car with you when you stay at Guacipelin. We did not feel that the prices in the restaurant were extremely high: a pasta goes between 12-18 USD and a pizza (the best we've had outside of Italy!) is around 12 USD. The nearest soda (a 13 minute drive) charges a bit less for food, but the difference it not that much.

On a family farm this was a lovely cabin. Spacious room with a good sized comfortable bed and nice bathroom. They have a lovely decking area at the front to watch the birds. There is no noise at night. The family made us very welcome. The cabin is on the road to the national park and very close to La Leona waterfall, a very popular tourist attraction. It is ideal for visits to both, but especially the National park, Rincon de La Vieja .

The hosts are exceptionally kind and welcoming, they were so happy to give advice on what the best places in Rincon de La vieja are. The breakfast they serve (for a little extra but so worth it) is a delicious Costa Rican breakfast. I will be coming back.

A piece of paradise maintained with lots of care - the owners wanted to recreate the feeling of a traditional finca, yet we have the comfort & impeccable cleanliness to mak our stay unforgettable. Fine touches in the details, looots of birds to admire from th hammocks, including toucans, blue jay, humming bird. Friendly parrot, lizard and dogs complete the feel of home. Delicious breakfast and dinner. Maureen and Charly helped us with local advices and bookings, which was very much appreciated!

The staff of the hotel was really nice (especially Carlos) and helpful. Food in the restaurant is very tasty, there is beautiful view on the volcano. Good localisation also. I really recommend this hotel.

Great location, nice parc and lovely hotel. Roger was always willing to give advices and smiling just like his wife. We had access to the pool(s), inside and outside and even to the kitchen for the fridge.one of the best place to rest between 2 hard hikes.
