Limassol is the second biggest city in Cyprus and the largest port in the island. Known for its vibrant nightlife, history and wine production, this tourist destination features long sandy and pebbly beaches, interesting museums and delicious Cypriot gastronomy.
Situated on the Akrotiri Bay, cosmopolitan Limassol is the southernmost city in Europe and home to the beaches of Governor and Lady’s Mile. The medieval Limassol Castle, as well as the ancient cities of Amathus and Kourion are some of the must-see attractions while visiting Limassol.
You should not miss the charming Old Town with its traditional houses and small streets leading to the old port and the beach. Featuring rich vegetation like eucalyptus trees and cypresses, the green Public Garden is home to a zoo with animals like tigers and lions.
Kolossi Castle is about 14 km from the city of Limassol, and the Greco-Roman theatre of Kourion is 18 km away, near the village of Episkopi.
Larnaca International Airport is about a 40-minute drive and can be reached by car, taxi or public transportation. Booking.com has excellent hotels, apartments, resorts and villas near the airport or Limassol.
