pleasant staff, great location, indoor garage parking, good Czech restaurant in the same building and great breakfast - especially scrambled eggs are real and tasty - homemade - perfect ! not as most other hotels serve the yellow polystyrene instead. Great hotel Zvon !

The hotel is located in a building which houses a wellness centre where you can book a massage or sauna. It is best to book it on advance. You enter your room from a little patio, which might be nice in the summer. The location is perfect - very close to the historical centre, bars and restaurants, bus stops and a big parking lot. It was peaceful and quiet. The room looks better in reality than in the photos. The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable.

It's a small old town with very few things to see.
It's a small old town with very few things to see. It has one main square and the Black Tower which you can climb up to and see the view. Other than that, it doesn't have much to offer. I also found that it wasn't very safe at night, we even encountered a gang fight during our stay.
However, it's convenient as a "base" for people who want to explore the South Bohemia region or want to do a bicycle tour and enjoy the nature around the area.
But if you want to visit a nice quaint little Czech town with cobblestone streets, nice cafés/restaurants, and beautiful views, go to Cesky Krumlov.

The city itself is very cute, the old center is actually not huge, but there is a nice park around it, which was home to some concerts and events at the time of our visit (early June).
Not only is it a cute town in itself, it is also very well located to explore the region. Cesky Krumlov is 25-ish minutes drive away, the Lipno treetop walkway is about 1 hour. Pilsen is around 2 hours drive. There is a plethora of super cute towns and also a lot of beautiful nature and possibilities for biking and hiking in the entire area.

Lovely historic town, super Xmas markets - better than Prague. Loads of great bars and several superb microbreweries as well as the world famous Budvar brewery which is well worth a tour.
Great parks and loads of easy walking around the town make it a pleasure to visit.
Good transport links and nearby Cesky Krumlov is a must see.

For a Czech city it was surprisingly uninspiring, the old town is beautiful and it's easy to get around. There is no castle or other major attraction. There's a brewery which proved to be very interesting.

Besides having a beautiful city centre and plenty of good cafes and restaurants and shops, the city is convenient as a hub from which to visit nearby towns in South Bohemia such as Ceske Krumlov, and to link with hiking and bicycle trails.
The Regional Museum is also well worth spending a few hours in.
One thing that online Maps fail to advise, is that Ceske Budejovice has a comprehensive bus network, that is inexpensive.
Overall the people seem happy and friendly to tourists.

Very clear and spacy apartment close to Ceske Budejovice center, with a unique, cozy atmosphere, with modern equipments and lots of pleasant details which help to make feel like being in an excellent home. And all this for a rather reasonable price.
The host, Michal, is a very kind, attentive and helpful person, who speaks excellent in English. Even he brought us some welcome drinks.
Nice cute hotel in the city center of Ceske Budejovice. I was surprised how close I was to the main square full of beautiful historical sights from medieval times. The room I got was really great and clean. The staff was very friendly and always ready to recommend local places where to eat or drink.
It was really great. The breakfast was really good, and room was quite big and nice. The hotel is close to the old town, we had some nice walks there. The receptionist was nice.
Very good breakfast. There is no lift but the staff helped with luggage (and refused a tip). The hotel is modern and pleasantly decorated. Secure car parking was provided.
