Located in Český Krumlov, a few steps from Castle Český Krumlov, Krumlovská pohádka has accommodations with a restaurant, private parking, a bar and a terrace. The equipment of the room is beautiful. The location is amazing. However, pay attention to the parking, which needs to be booked in advance, otherwise you have to park in the captured parking lots - I recommend in front of hockey stadium. It's about as far as the captive but the price is significantly different.

In retrospect, we could have done everything in a long day trip, taking an early morning bus from Prague and a late bus back. We spent two nights, which was relaxing but one night would have been plenty. We loved doing the free tour from the town square, and the castle tour. These were interesting and well done. It was nice to see furnished rooms in the castle and walk the grounds on top of the hill. I can't rave enough about the wonderful Italian restaurant in the basement of our small hotel. Czech food is heavy. The Italian restaurant was a fabulous contrast - so fresh and delicious.
Quaint town with a beautiful castle. The castle tour was nice, but a bit disappointing. The group was way too large for a decent tour. Unless you were at the very front, it was impossible to hear the guide, and he would often start his explanation before everyone was in the room and could hear. We really enjoyed strolling around the town on a self-guided tour and peeking into shops here and there. We only had an afternoon in the area, so we missed the art gallery, however there are fascinating artworks sculptures all over town and along the river. The cathedral is nice and had two beautiful organs, which are still in use. The synagogue is now used as an art gallery, but it has a decent exhibit on the pre-Shoah community of Krumlov. All-in-all, we enjoyed our afternoon here, but probably needed at least another half-day to a day to see more of the area.
One of my favorite towns in the world! I was there for over a week several years ago, but just brought my family here for a night this time. If you go in the right season, river rafting or kayaking trips are lovely. If you're an artist, you'll most definitely feel an urge to draw in this town - there's a great Koh-i-Noor store if you need supplies. Hang out by the river somewhere and get to sketching. Highly recommend Laibon for vegetarians and others who just want to chill out and grab food by the water. If you're traveling alone or looking for a great hostel vs a hotel, Skippy's is the best. The amazing back deck on the river makes it well worth the short walk from the center of town, and Skippy is just a lovely lovely person (as well as a fantastic musician).
Cesky Krumlov is a small town, so one day is enough to view all the sights. People were very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely recommend visiting Cesky Krumlov to anyone visiting the Czech Republic. Tip: The Student Agency bus service from Prague does daily trips to Cesky Krumlov and is really good and affordable.
Very very pretty town. The Egon Shiele Art Gallery was a highlight. However, they do need to get the parking right for tourists. My Czech is not great (not sure many tourists do speak Czech), and we ended up getting clamped for parking in a parking space which looked as if it was ok for an hour while we found our hotel. It was almost comic, as the first thing we did was to visit the local police station, and try to have a conversation with the grim person behind the counter about what to do. They did unclamp it, did not charge us, but we did not feel welcomed, and we skipped the next night we had planned to stay in the Czech Republic. Beware!
The authentic feeling of the old city, to be able to relate how people lived centuries ago and their ability to create solid and durable structures without modern day equipment. The market on the town squire was also a nice attraction.
