We travelled mainly to see the traces of jewish life in Český Krumlov. There is a recently reconstructed synagogue, with a nice café and a little playground outside. They organize cultural events like expositions or concerts, and also you can find some information about the jewish families living here in the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Besides that of course the little fairy tale like streets are lovely and the castle and its gardens breathtaking. We had a delicious and breakfast and recieved friendly service at café Kolektiv. There is much more to see and to do here, but it has to be the next time.

We only stayed here 1.5 days and we could have stayed longer. We had not enough time to enjoy the pleasant river for some water activities and that would have made our stay a lot more special. Although we stayed in the middle of the summer holiday, the city was not overcrowded. We would have liked to stay a day longer, so 2.5 days. Backpacking with small kids always takes a bit longer, so taking more time would be better. With small kids the restaurants in the city centre offered enough options. We liked the large busstation, going to Lipno and to Prague. Just outside the centre their are 2 big supermarkets with affordable options. The kids liked exploring the big castle best. They also enjoyed making lots of selfies with the amazing views from all over the city. Very scenic!

Loved the city. Castle complex is stunning as is the old town. Lots to do in the area. Loved the rafting down the Vltava river. Getting around town is easy but is a little hilly. Lots of excellent places to eat. Places and activities we loved: 1) Malecek rafting - took excellent care of us. Great experience 2) Castle - absolute must see 3) Some good eats. Nona Ginna Pizza - great pizza good pricel; Hostinec Depo, best Plzen in town and great czech food. Cool location.

Such a lovely little city - all the charms of Prague, only without the rowdy stag/hen parties. It manages to retain its character despite being a very well-visited tourist destination. There are a variety of things to do and see, both historic (Castle etc) and active (River rafting etc). It's also quite affordable, even if some prices are a little inflated for tourists they are still very reasonable. We would happily visit again. Also it's one of the most dog-friendly cuties I have ever been to in Europe - our dog was loved and loved it here - she gives it a paws-up too!

Cesky Krumlov has a lot to see, architecturally and historical sites. It gets crowded about 10:30-11:00 am when bus loads of tourists come in for the day. If at all possible, spend at least 1 night (we stayed 3, and still had things to see). This way you get to enjoy the city after the tour buses leave in the afternoon. Apparently summertime is packed, so off season is better if you want some breathing space.

You can really see attention to details. It is very clean and tidy. The hosts are exceptional as well. No problem with our request to arrive late. Everyone smiling. Breakfast was delicious and diverse. Although we didn't stay for long we were really happy with the stay. It definitely exceeded our expectations.

Stay here for the best location in Cesky Krumlov. The hotel is literally on the bank of the Vltava River and across from the castle. Our room had a large living room with chandelier and balcony overlooking the castle and river. Very Instagramable! The front desk was welcoming and helpful. Mulled wine and hot chocolate served in the evening for strolling the medieval streets with a hand warmer. So nice to stay overnight in this gorgeous town rather than a day trip.

It is also worth mentioning that the hotel is very close to the Castle and the Baroque Opera.
