Fantastic place, really helpful staff and just ideal as a stop over as it’s close to the motorway. We arrived a little late but the restaurant stayed open for us and they could not have been more helpful. Really quiet, despite the odd train shuffling gently past. Superb breakfast also.

Bad Bentheim is best in the summer (or when the weather is good) for walking and cycling. It’s a small town but has enough restaurants to cater for tourists and the locals. The major attractions are the castle and the thermal baths. If you wish to explore other towns/cities in the region there are easy rail links to Nordhorn, Rheine, Münster and Osnabrück.

It's the third time this year I have been to Bad Bentheim.

It's the third time this year I have been to Bad Bentheim. All for short visits with friends and family on cycling holidays. It's a cracking little gem of a town just of the border from Holland. Easily accessible by road, rail and bike. The railway station is on the DB main ICE line between Amsterdam and Berlin and there are plenty of local rail services from Hengelo in Holland. Although the town centre is quite small it has a great castle that overlooks the town and is definitely worth a visit. There is also the city park and surrounding woodlands that off various walks and cycling options. There are plenty of shops for supplies with several supermarkets and retail stores. Also, some wonderful local restaurants and bars in the town centre.

Bad Bentheim is a nice town, but not much friendly to...

Bad Bentheim is a nice town, but not much friendly to tourists. Shops and restaurants close early, which is especially strange on Saturdays. For instance the bike renting shop closed at 1300h, so we had to hurry to get back in time.

Wonderful place. Calm and very friendly. Sauna room was fantastic with water refreshment and amazing scents. Gym was very modern with all items as needed. Dinner was delicious with best asparagus I ever had. Also the staff was very friendly and since there are only a few people the hotel felt very personal. Breakfast 10/10. Price value is just top

Beautiful hotel grounds very well cared for lovely exterior and interior, staff were exceptionally accommodating, really could not ask for more. thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and certainly would go back beautiful and peaceful, food was generous and varied. it is what I think would be classified as a romantic hotel.

Second time staying here on an overland trip to see family in northern Germany. We would definitely come back. Lovely people and a great place to stay. Very handy for the motorway if you’re passing through like us but also Bad Bentheim is a pretty little town with a great castle so worth a look!

Super helpful staff, clean and comfortable and a peaceful location. Good secure storage for bicycles. Bad Bentheim centre, castle and park was only a short walk from the hotel. Also, some nice woodland trails and cycle paths nearby. Great value for money.
