Beautifully refurbished property in the small village of Obernzell, just out of Passau. Spotlessly clean, with comfortable beds and a small, well equipped kitchen for self catering. Absolutely glorious view, overlooking the Danube, from the balcony. You simply cannot go past this for an authentic experience in the German countryside. We ate at the hotel Donaublick, just next door, which had the same spectacular view.

The owners were friendly and helpful, we felt really welcome. The apartment was large and comfortable, with details making the stay homely and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped for our own cooking and with lots of storage space for our foodstuff. The apatmemt had spacious storage space for bicycles, and even a selection of board games for rainy days. We enjoyed out stay a lot.

The staff were extremely helpful and lovely. We arrived out of the check-in hours so they left the key and all we needed to access the hotel and our room ready for us. I was celebrating my birthday during our stay and they organised a surprise for me: our breakfast table was facing the river, I got a card, a piece of cake with a candle and a glass of sekt. It was really special, thank you again! The room was spacious and comfortable, it had everything we needed. The bed was perfect and very comfy. The location was fantastic for the purpose of our trip, close to everything and just 25 min walk from the train station. It was really practical. We also received restaurant recommendations from the hotel staff, and they were spot on. I would wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.

Best location in the old town Our hotel is surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere - directly on the southern bank of the river next to the castle park with no road in between.
