I was q bit worried about staying in a smart hotel but be reassured all you other technophobes we were able to check in with a human in the restaurant across the road where we also got a ticket for parking during our stay either in front of the hotel or up the road. The hotel was very solid and comfortable and the decoration grew on us. I loved the concept that you can use whatever you find in the hotel.. including beer. The restaurant on site is very good and stays.open late and there is a free bus to the festival

Hotel was easy to find and they had a safe parking garage. Staff were really nice and helpful. Room was also very nice, clean and comfortable. We loved the blackout curtain. Breakfast was really good and comprehensive. They had the best hot chocolate during our travel to Germany. :) We don't like big cities, so we liked the location outside the central area. Still it was easily accessible from the airport. Highly recommended. Vielen Dank!

Romantic Region of Castles and Christmas Markets

Home to some of the world’s oldest and finest Christmas markets, Bavaria is the German region touching Lake Constance and the Austrian and Czech borders. Although evoking images of beer, lederhosen and fairytale castles, it’s much, much more than that.

Famous for Oktoberfest, its capital Munich has impressive architecture lining squares and parks, and several luxury Bavaria hotels on Booking.com. To the north, Nuremberg is a city of 2 halves: a picture-postcard old town and grandiose Nazi rally grounds housing a sensitive museum.

With a stately palace and gardens, Erlangen is on the Regnitz River which continues to beautiful Bamberg where one of the half-timbered buildings hovers above the flowing river. Bayreuth is well-known for opera performances of Wagner, a former resident, while Regensburg on the Danube River has a beautiful, medieval centre.

Unsurprisingly, most romantic Bavaria hotels are on the Romantic Road between Würzburg, with its hilltop castle, and Füssen in the foothills of the Alps. From the moment you enter the hotel, you feel very relaxed and special. After making the reservation, I contacted the front office manager, Jan-Eike, to organize a special birthday surprise for my wife, and he personally handled the entire process. When we arrived at the hotel, everything had been prepared perfectly, exactly as I had wished. All the staff at the hotel are friendly, understanding, and very willing to fulfill requests. The pool and SPA areas are very hygienic. The breakfast is very diverse, the quality is extremely high, and the flavors are wonderful. The special and refined menus in the evening restaurants were ambitious enough to rival Michelin-starred restaurants. The surroundings of the hotel are just as magnificent. One of the Best place we ever stayed with Family. We arrived late at night and Leonie gave us the most warmest welcome. The staff are very attentive, and the spa and pools are great. Many indoor and outdoor facilities for the children. Breakfast is amazing. During our stay Leonie and her team took great care of us and nothing was too much trouble. We left early in the morning and received a very generous and tasty breakfast for the road too. Can't recommend this place enough, we will be back!

We generally enjoyed our stay in Munich.

We generally enjoyed our stay in Munich. We did tours of the presence of the Third Reich and WW 2's effect on the city. We also took a train to the Dachau concentration camp. We used the Hop on Hop off "Big" bus to get a sense of the city, and used it again to get out to the 1972 Olympic site. Munich was quite clean and charming. The tourist areas were just as you would expect; crowded and expensive. In fact, we found the city as a whole was much more expensive than other options in Europe. We are not sure that we would go back, but are certainly glad we went.

The city had so much to offer we were disappointed that we didn't plan on more days to explore. The tranportation system is awesome and allows you to get anywhere in the city. I would definitely recommend the Nuremberg Card to save money and make it easier traveling.

I was only there for a night this time, to meet friends, but have stayed several times before. There is lots to see and do; historic buildings and churches, lovely architecture, characterful old market square, a good range of shops, the Juliusspittal and the Burgspittal wineries, parks and gardens, riverside walks, cafes and historic pubs etc. Excellent transport system around the city - buses and trams - and the city is served by lots of good rail connections. Also a good base for day trips to local vineyards, other cities such as Nuremberg and the romantic town of Rothenburg ob der Taube with its famous year round 'Christmas shop'. Highly recommend a visit!

Bamberg is a great small German town, unspoiled by either war damage or insensitive property development. There is a lot to see and the restaurants are good. The market is lively and there's a fabulous concert hall, home to the winner of Gramophone magazine's "Orchestra of the Year, 2026" - the Bamberg Symphony.

Well worth visiting this town that has survived with little damage during the war and has real medieval charm. Plenty of trips to other towns from here. Also a river cruise to Vallhalle is well worth it. Don’t miss the oldest sausage cafe with their wonderful grilled bratwurst located at the river

The town is small but very pleasant and clean. I recommend it for a long weekend. Munich is close (about an hour away), and there is a good connection between the two cities. They often have interesting events in town that are worth visiting. I wasn't impressed with the food.

We ate twice in the restaurant on the terrace outside the Lindauerhof hotel and liked its menu and flexible approach. Ate once in Karisma - excellent. We liked morning coffee in the Cantinetta with lovely uninterrupted views of the lake. Aperitifs and people-watching, and buskers outside the Bayerischer hotel. Very helpful advice from an Englishwoman in the Tourist Office. The Bodensee free travel pass was great. We liked the Hotel garni Brugger's friendly atmosphere and its location

Fussen is a cute little town with a vibrant Aldstat.

Fussen is a cute little town with a vibrant Aldstat. Has a nice waterfall Lechfall on its outskirts. Right across the border with Austria. Can stay here if you want to escape the big city buzz and explore bavarian castles: neuschwanstein and Linderhof and undertake excursions in Austria on the other side of the border

Beautiful small town flare with well preserved architecture.

Beautiful small town flare with well preserved architecture. Walk around the old city wall was also a beautiful and quiet. Highly recommended. And absolutely just immerse yourself and get lost in the city alleys to enjoy the curvy winding pavement roads.

Due to non availability on airport shuttle it was disaster...

Due to non availability on airport shuttle it was disaster and disappointment. How can you declare holiday in express Munich airport and no airport shuttle. Totally bullshit. Due to this our minimum 1000.00 euro extra expensive as every day we took taxi to go airport terminal to take exhibition bus
