Leonardo Hotel Augsburg

Hotel in Augsburg

Set in Augsburg, 4.4 km from Congress Centre Augsburg, Leonardo Hotel Augsburg offers accommodation with a restaurant, private parking, a fitness centre and a bar. Great breakfast! Snacks around 4 pm near the elevator. Yum! It was a bit far from the train station BUT we discovered that the tram passed right by to old town and then the train station (and probably then the hotel) - #4? We walked just about everywhere, so it wasn't too bad even if you choose to walk. Hotel was right beside a lovely walking/biking path near the river. This is Germany after all. LOVE IT! Quiet room facing the inside "V". Rooftop deck was lovely! Weight room looked good.

Hotel Edita 4 stars

Hotel in Scheidegg

Hotel Edita has a restaurant, fitness centre, a bar and garden in Scheidegg. This 4-star hotel offers ski storage space and room service. This is a very modern Hotel recently built and easily 5 star. I was motorcycle touring and looking for somewhere near the Deutch Alpenstrasse route, It has beautiful rooms and super comfy beds. I used the sauna area and relaxation lounge there are 4 saunas to try with views out over the mountains. The restaurant was excellent and also a high standard. I parked my bike in the underground car park with access to the lifts, at an extra charge. Breakfast was also very good.

FAQs about hotels in Bavaria

Romantic Region of Castles and Christmas Markets

Home to some of the world’s oldest and finest Christmas markets, Bavaria is the German region touching Lake Constance and the Austrian and Czech borders. Although evoking images of beer, lederhosen and fairytale castles, it’s much, much more than that.

Famous for Oktoberfest, its capital Munich has impressive architecture lining squares and parks, and several luxury Bavaria hotels on Booking.com. To the north, Nuremberg is a city of 2 halves: a picture-postcard old town and grandiose Nazi rally grounds housing a sensitive museum.

With a stately palace and gardens, Erlangen is on the Regnitz River which continues to beautiful Bamberg where one of the half-timbered buildings hovers above the flowing river. Bayreuth is well-known for opera performances of Wagner, a former resident, while Regensburg on the Danube River has a beautiful, medieval centre.

Unsurprisingly, most romantic Bavaria hotels are on the Romantic Road between Würzburg, with its hilltop castle, and Füssen in the foothills of the Alps. Neighbouring Hohenschwangau has 2 royal castles, one of which – Neuschwanstein – inspired the Disney castle. Oberammergau has frescoed façades and hosts a 10-yearly Passion Play, and nearby Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a top German ski resort, with Tyrolean-style houses overlooked by Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain.

Back on the Romantic Road, Augsburg has colourful buildings, and Rothenburg ob der Tauber is like stepping back in time.
