We loved everything from our room, to the always smiling and helpful staff, our bike storage, our breakfast and The Hotel's location. What more! We will visit again one day and recommend it to our friends. We are long distance cyclists, have stayed in lots of Hotel's over the years, so this is one of the best reviews we have ever given! Thank you everyone!

A stunning city with so much rich heritage and culture to explore, not only within the city itself, but within close reach and even extended distances from the city. There's so much we didn't do or explore that we want to come and do sometime soon! We ate at places recommended by locals, a friend in the city as well as the owners of the Pension we stayed in. These recommendations couldn't have been more right, from Cafe Blaas to Das Oberhaus, to Julis Spätzle. Wherever we went, we got a different flavour and taste of the area and city, as well as even different views!! The Old Town is easily walkable, although it is cobbled so that's a fact to bear in mind. It also ascends and descends, so may not be appropriate for everybody. Beyond that, there are easy places to park should you need to, and the public transport system seemed to run at a decent rate (although we never tried it out!).

A lively city with nature, 3 rivers, parks, a large historical centre and a castle, many various restaurants and cafés and friendly people. You can't get enough walking around and enjoying the romantic atmosphere. You can go to the opera or enjoy some open air festival in the summer, or go on boat trips. Also nice for sports outdoors.

It's a cute little village/town with nothing to do if the main downtown is closed, which it was since it happened to be Sunday. Oh, and there was a very cool Indian restaurant near our hotel named Kahani, where the food was delicious and service was awesome!!

I was surprised at how much there was to see and do in this charming medieval town. We stayed for 4 nights which felt just right for visiting the castle, the Virgin Mary pilgrimage church, taking an afternoon boat ride on the Crystal ship, visiting the glass museum, and walking along the cobblestone streets to visit shops, art galleries, cafes, and bars. If we had more time I would have probably used the spot as a jumping off point for other local towns. We did a lot of walking to see the gorgeous views of the 3 rivers. Lots of history in this town - it was an unexpected gem.

Passau is a gem!

Passau is a gem! Wonderful architecture, beautiful laid back ambience, great array of cafes , bars and restaurants and the overwhelming sense of the cultural heights that humanity can achieve. The presence of the Danube pervades all-and boat trips are a must. This is a " must visit"-again and again!!!

We have been to Passau many times in the fall. And many times we have chosen to stay in this hotel (the first time in 2006). Excellent, spacious room with balcony...and located in a quiet area of the hotel exactly as we wanted. The breakfast was very good, diversified, and the staff there very attentive to make sure everything was good for the guests. The reception staff very professional and very kind. Congratulations to all the hotel staff. Congratulations to the hotel management. We will come back here with great pleasure.

The hotel is well outside of Passau, about seven kilometers, so it was very quiet. There was a small village two kilometers away that had a nice Italian restaurant and a petrol station. Breakfast was okay, but nothing special.
