Friendly staff, cozy and spacious rooms with an amazing mattress, and a large bathroom. I especially appreciated the heated towel rack, which was perfect for drying wet clothes after snowy walks. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. Highly recommend staying here!

I liked the view from my suite of schloss neuschwanstein which was seen from our balcony. The owner Annette was very welcoming ,provided a lot of local information and especially Sabine who made our stay very comfortable,and offered take away coffee for our road trip. The parking was very easily accessible and spacious and even after checkout they allowed us to keep our car in the parking

The location is simply fabulous, with endless possibilities for hiking, biking, lake swimming and other. The staff was really friendly. It was very quiet, yet no one frowned upon our children. There were a lot of toys to borrow and a small playground. We had a ground apartment, it was ideal for us. Breakfast was rich, with some different specialty every day. Apartment was well equipped. There was a microwave, coffeemaker (two types!!!), coffee, tea, salt and pepper. Soft beds. All in all, we were exceptionally happy about our stay!

I absolutely enjoyed my stay at Hotel Antonia. The location is excellent – very convenient and quiet at the same time. Breakfast was great, fresh and nicely prepared. A special thank you to Mira, who works as the hotel administrator and breakfast host – she was incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming, and made me feel very comfortable during my stay. I also really appreciated that check-in starts already from 13:00, which made arrival much easier. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing breakfast, a lot of vegan options as well as a la carte eggs in different styles. The food in the restaurant is also really good, far above average and a wide range of choices. There is a very laidback feeling in the hotel, and despite it's not super big, it does not feel crowded at all. Staff was really helpful and friendly.

Excellent location, just a short walk from beautiful green fields and the ski area. Although we visited in summer, it was a wonderful stay. The apartment felt very homely, with comfortable rooms and a well-equipped kitchen. We truly enjoyed our stay.

Mittenwald is about 1.5 hours from Munich airport and close...

Mittenwald is about 1.5 hours from Munich airport and close to the Austrian border. It's position is perfect for mountain hiking in both the Karwendel and Wendelstein ranges. It's far less crowded than Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I did two major day hikes in late June in fairly hot weather (32C in the town). There are at least 4-5 full-day hikes that start within easy reach of the hotel. If you don't want Bavarian cuisine every night, there are plenty of alternative restaurants and even in June booking didn't seem necessary.

I stayed at this hotel for two nights and had an excellent experience. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist. The hotel’s facilities were well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. I highly recommend this hotel and would be happy to return in the future.

Great town to visit with many cute shops and restaurants. I would include Ettal in the review as it is only a couple of miles up the street with a Monestary not to be missed. The views around the town are wonderful and you can spend hours just looking at the house paintings.

What I especially liked, Ehrwald has everything close by: restaurants, cable cars, and beautiful hiking trails. It’s the perfect starting point for tours and enjoying the local cuisine. I ate at Hoisler’s Wirtshaus, on the Ehrwalder Alm, and at Papas Café Bar – all of them were tasty and had a cozy atmosphere. Getting around Ehrwald is super easy. You can take the bus, explore on foot, or drive – everything is well connected. There are lots reat activities for solo travelers: A trip to the highline179 in Reutte, Tyrol was a real highlight – the suspension bridge offers breathtaking views and is easy to reach. Beutifull place, but 3-5 day is enough, if one is not a sky...

Beutifull place, but 3-5 day is enough, if one is not a sky or montainbike fan. If you plan to visit also the Neuswanstein castle , be prepared, buy ticket ahead, and be there well ahead of time. Worth the effort. Nice canyons, and hill in the area.

Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey.

Ettals main, and only, attraction is the Abbey. Which is certainly impressive. You'll most likely visit Ettal for the region, as it is a great point to start your hikes and/or visit Oberammergau and Garmisch-Partenkichen. Munchen and Innsbruck are only an hour drive away.

We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight...

We did not spend any time in Berwang proper except overnight in our accommodations. However, it was perfectly located for our planned day trips - visits to the peak of the Zugspitze, nearby alpine lakes, and castle visits (Ehrenberg, Hohenschwangau, and Neuschwanstein), including a walk back and forth over the Highline 179 suspension bridge and ziplining down to the parking lot. If we had had more time, would have spent it exploring Berwang itself. Can't say enough about how beautiful the area is.

Farchant is a small village about 4km from Garmisch.

Farchant is a small village about 4km from Garmisch. It was convenient to stay there and then go into the train station the next morning to buy tickets to take the cog train and then the cable car up to the top of Zugspitze. Breakfast at the hotel was yummy!
