PolandOur one-night stay here was absolutely perfect! The hotel is wonderful with top-notch, super friendly service. We loved our beautiful room which offered a breathtaking view of the mountains, and the breakfast was simply delicious.
On top of that, Mittenwald is a magical, charming, and peaceful Alpine town full of character. We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back!

AustraliaAll was fabulous! All appliances were new and modern. It was great to have a lift when arriving with luggage. The railway station and old town are very close. A few missing items that may have made our stay stay even better were a microwave and a clothes dryer, even though there was a clothes airer.

Mittenwald is about 1.5 hours from Munich airport and close...
Mittenwald is about 1.5 hours from Munich airport and close to the Austrian border. It's position is perfect for mountain hiking in both the Karwendel and Wendelstein ranges. It's far less crowded than Garmisch-Partenkirchen. I did two major day hikes in late June in fairly hot weather (32C in the town). There are at least 4-5 full-day hikes that start within easy reach of the hotel. If you don't want Bavarian cuisine every night, there are plenty of alternative restaurants and even in June booking didn't seem necessary.

Mittenwald is a charming town with great restaurants and lovely shops. We ate at Osteria Bella Vista, Wildfang and Joseph's twice, never had a bad meal! The outdoor opportunities are endless and more lovely towns a short distance away, especially Seefeld. We'd love to go back in the summer!

A beautiful little town in the mountains.
A beautiful little town in the mountains. There are sooo many choices of where to eat. Walking around oldtown is a treat with the paintings on the buildings, views of the mountains and decisions of where to eat. Oldtown is completely walkable.

Picture perfect Mittenwald has the perfect balance of of beautiful buildings, plenty of food options, and beautiful shops. We enjoyed spending an afternoon hiking the nearby Leutasch-Klamm Wasserfallsteig.

We've been to Mittenwald many times and it's one of my favorite places in the region. It's a beautiful village with lots to see and do. There are many places to hike and a cable car trip to the top of Karwendel is a great way to spend a day.

Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests.
Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. The historical city centre has a number of sights and a good choice of restaurants - for many the real beauty begins once you leave the city. From taking cable cars, walking along the river or through the forest to climbing peaks up to around 2,500 m, the natural surroundings are stunning. The city does a good job at offering public buses that take tourists to the most important sights and trailheads, giving us the chance to leave the car at home and help preserve the gem that Mittenwald is!

Beautiful, newly refurbished apartment, well equipped and with great communication from the owner. Superb location a short walk to start of walking routes to the lakes and gorge. 5 minute walk to supermarket, brewery/resturant and 2 other restaurants, 10-15 minutes to the cable cars, and railway station and the main centre of Mittenwald.
