We only stayed overnight our last night in Europe.
We only stayed overnight our last night in Europe. Visited Meersburg Castle, the Stilthouse Museum, and other places in the area. We bought our own food mostly due to dietary restrictions, but enjoyed apfel strudel with whipped cream and gelato near the ferry dock.

Whilst this corner of Germany might not be an obvious holiday destination for the family (family of 4; 2 teens), it proved a great base for a “lakes, mountains and cities” across Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Markdorf is a great little town, with everything you need - supermarket, couple of good restaurants and a decent coffee shop. The property itself is really well-equipped and spacious - both teens happy with separate rooms and king-size beds.

This hotel was convenient for a visit to Friedrichshafen to attend the Ham Radio event and also to visit the Zeppelin museum. The food and wine were excellent (especially the local Grauburgunder) and the room was comfortable.

The town of Markdorf was a delight especially the restaurant in the Marketplace and the hidden one at the top of the town!

Nice decorated theme rooms, relaitvely quiet even as the hotel is located close to a busy main road and a camping. Outdoor swimming pool and sauna available.
