While the hotel is located in the pedestrian zone of the "old town", we were able to park temporarily in front of the hotel. Inside, the reception was very helpful and friendly, describing the facilities, and providing a street diagram showing the location of the public parking lot reserved for hotel guests (a short little walk). The hotel reception then carried our bags up the staircase to our room on the first floor. And, when checking out, the hotel housecleaning gal insisted on carrying our bags down to the reception. The hotel staff are the most friendly and helpful staff that I have encountered in hotel visits. The hotel has the best location for visiting Greetsiel. The hotel has good dining facilities including an outdoor setting for dinner or relaxing with a beverage.

We loved this Boutique Hotel . Very modern and clean . Very comfortable bed . Nice spacious bathroom. Breakfast was really nice . Well presented and always freshly prepared. 10 out of 10 for this wonderful hotel . We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend a stay here..

Wirdum is located in the heart of beautiful East Frisia.

Wirdum is located in the heart of beautiful East Frisia. We didn't see much of Wirdum itself. The location is ideal. Everything from Emden to Norden, from Greetsiel to Osten is easily and quickly accessible (by car). The scenery is very beautiful. We wish other guests a wonderful time.

Wirdum is a small, tranquil village in the Krumhörn region.

Wirdum is a small, tranquil village in the Krumhörn region. Greetsiel, Norden, Norddeich, and other small harbors are easily accessible from there. The Hotel zum Großen Krug offers excellent food and is within walking distance.

Wirdum itself is a village, but very quiet.

Wirdum itself is a village, but very quiet. Good paths for walking. From there it wasn't far to Emden, Aurich, Harlingersiel, the North Sea islands, etc. We ate at the hotel. Monday was a BBQ buffet, Friday a schnitzel buffet, and in between, delicious fish. We would do it all the same way again.

Wirdum is small, but great for holidaymakers who want to cycle! It's very well located for reaching several places by bike! What it lacks is a supermarket or a larger shop! The Hotel und Gasthof zum großen Krug is highly recommended!

The hotel offers excellent food.

The hotel offers excellent food. Wirdum is a lovely place for a stroll. It's conveniently located for day trips. A reasonably priced petrol station, a bakery, and a hairdresser are all within easy walking distance.
