I would give this 10 stars if I could! It was SOOO cute! And right across the street from the waterfront. It was just like ones described in an English novel! The room was small, but had everything we needed. And in such a cute town, we weren't spending time in the room. There was also a common room with a TV, a large dining room which had an great breakfast included with the price, and an awesome view! Staff was super nice...we met the owner the evening we checked in when she came to make sure everything was good. It was just a few minutes walk to the town with great restaurants and shops, and a beach! Also, the ferry to Norway was just a 5 minute drive away, which is why we stayed here. I would love to go back for several days, though, as the whole area was very cute.

It’s a small harbour town - not a place you would make a...

It’s a small harbour town - not a place you would make a special effort to go to as a tourist, but it has a pleasant hotel with a nice terrace, a couple of decent restaurants and shops for essential groceries. If you are in Hirtshals for the ferry, you might like to stop by for a bite to eat or a drink on a terrace. The nearby beaches are beautiful and really worth a visit - especially if you have dogs!

This place was perfect for an overnight stay from coming...

This place was perfect for an overnight stay from coming from the ferry and leaving the next day to travel onwards to our destination a 10 hour drive further to the south-west. We found it especially useful that the bedroom had a window that could open but it was on the side the wind came from so it blew into the room a lot. It would have been nice if the windows on the other side of the room had the possibility to open, too, so we could choose which ones to open, according to the wind direction. There was a lounge with TV and a big corner sofa and a kitchen with a dining table downstairs. There was also a cozy little entrance area with a round table to play games and a very comfy hanging chair I loved to sit in. The downstairs bathroom is spacious and clean. On top of the stairs is another toilet which makes it easier for toilet use in the night for the occupants of the upstairs bedrooms. There is also a bedroom on ground level, next to the lounge and kitchen. We had a meal on the ferry, so we did not need to go out for dinner in the evening but from other visits to Hirtshals I know there are eating places around. Just check for the season because they are not all open the whole year round, especially between Christmas and the New Year you might be stuck because most places are closed at 'romjul'.

A great place to stay when travelling between Denmark and Norway. A 2 minute drive to the ferry terminal. Dinner had a good selection and was delightful, with excellent service. The breakfast had everything you could need and was beautifully presented and fresh.

I travelled through a part of Hirtshals to the harbour so I didn't see much of it. But my staying in Tornby Guesthouse for two nights made my journey worth while! You can see some photo's of the Tornby Guesthouse.

Hirtshals is usually the starting point for ferry trips to and from Norway. Nevertheless, you should take some time to explore Hirtshals and its surroundings. It's worth seeing the lighthouse and strolling through the dunes. There's also a bunker museum with relics from World War II. The small rock collection near the lighthouse is also worth a look. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for anything else.

The rooms are very spacious and stylishly furnished. Ideal for a stay before a ferry trip to Norway. Breakfast, with a view of the ferry terminal, was relaxed and left nothing to be desired. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is the perfect place to start a holiday in Norway.

Everything in the location is Vintage in the style of 1895, but very clean and fresh renovated with old materials - just an amazing design with a very good sense for atmosphere. The leader of the hotel tries to make it very comfortable and quiet for the guest and it feels in the best way to be in the style of the olden days. An amazing experience which I didn't expect!

The hotel is very easy to find and nicely located close to Hirtshals Centre. Rooms have lot of space, nice double bed, work table and nice bathroom. The reception area has games such as billiard. The restaurant at first floor cook good seafood.
