I want to give a completely fair and honest review of this accommodation in order to help other Booking.com guests. Victoria the host supplied absolutely everything we needed in the house in the form of soap, shower gel, shampoo, enough toilet rolls, washing up liquid and a very well equipped kitchen. The only thing I missed in the kitchen was wine glasses and a microwave. Communication with Victoria was very good and the key handover etc. was arranged with a neighbour of Victoria’s due to us arriving late, which was all worked out well with no hitches. Also, on the day of leaving, Victoria said we could leave at whatever time suited us, which was very accommodating. Something to note which we found out ourselves by accident is that the bars and restaurants in the village close by 8pm on Sundays and absolutely nowhere is open to eat on Mondays. Apparently this is normal tradition in Andalusian vilages, but it would have been helpful information to have in advance. Canjayar itself was not as nice as other towns in the area, we loved nearby Padules, Alicun, Heucija and Abla. Canjayar was not as pleasant or clean and there are an awful lot of feral cats! I always review my accommodation stays on Booking.com for the benefit of other travellers and feel it is my responsibility to point out below the faults with this accommodation. I was not comfortable or happy there. I feel all the other 16 reviews are quite misleading, certainly for me and my partner. We have stayed in many places in Almeria, we love going there, but this accommodation for us was not “exceptional” or “superb” as rated by previous guests. I always give an honest and fair review and am doing so in this case
