We loved Bilbao. The food was terrific, and we loved eating so many different varieties of Pintxos. Walking around was very easy, and the architecture in the city was beautiful. We rode the metro to the beach, and that was cheap and easy.

It would be best to eat a lot in Bilbao, which has many excellent restaurants. Also, the Guggenheim Museum should be seen. Streets and balconies are very nice. We had great weather in June, but I understand it is also a rainy city.

It's a city.
It's a city. So had a city feel and did not intrigue me greatly unlike other regional coastal towns like Vigo and A Coruna. Good transport and would recommend a visit out of the city by metro to the port area (Neguri)

This was our first trip to Bilbao.
This was our first trip to Bilbao. The city contains many beautiful parks and squares full of lovely flowers. A reasonably brisk walk will get you to just about any part of the new or old town in half an hour or less. Otherwise your hotel can summon an inexpensive taxi that arrives almost immediately. The food was very good - we didn't have a poor meal there. A nice, broad beach is about 20 minutes away by taxi. For modern art lovers, the Guggenheim Museum is a must-see. Folks who are not really fans of modern art will still enjoy the design of the building and perhaps a couple of the exhibits. San Sebastian, with its great food and spectacular beach scene, is a scenic bus ride away and takes 1.5 hours to reach. Bilbao's old town is atmospheric, with a cathedral, narrow lanes, and busy restaurants in Plaza Nueva. Our Bilbao visit took 6 days, including time to recover from jetlag. That seemed about the right length.

The main reason for visiting Bilbao is the see the Guggenheim. The architecture if the nuseum is first rate, the collection within is not.
Bilbao takes seriously the opening the museum gives. The city centre is well maintained and has a good range of street art,
Perfect location across the street from Guggenheum museum, a short walk to the old town along the river. Compact but nice gym/wellness area. The rooms are nicely appointed but not the most inspiring view when looking into the courtyard at the shaft of the giant phallic sculpture. The lavender spray at turndown is a lovely touch. The staff are super and always willing to help. Good parking facilities and quite accessible, not as tight or difficult to navigate as many city centre hotels in Spain.
Excellent location in the middle of Bilbao old town - could not have been better! The hotel was very clean. It does not have a reception and the hotel requires you to complete a self check in (and submit your passport details) prior to checking in. There is a hotel around the corner that the hotel is linked to that has a 24hr reception and luggage storage. The room itself was clean and comfortable. There is a kitchenette with a fridge (but there is no stove so you can’t cook).
The hotel is classy and very well located. The old town of Bilbao is on your doorstep and the Guggenheim and funicular are walking distance. This is therefore a great place for a short stay in the city, so you can get the most out of your time there. The bed was very comfortable and the shower nice too. The staff were very helpful.
The location overlooking the river & with close proximity to both the old town & central Bilbao amenities was great. WRT to the hotel - all the staff were very welcoming, friendly & helpful. The hotel was obviously well run to a good standard.
We liked everything, it was the best hotel we had during our stay in Spain. Great room, very spacious, great AC. Very modern building and everything is still new. Fully recommend. If we ever come back to Bilbao we will choose the same place.
