Traditional Galician stone cottage renovated to a high standard, The Señora spoke no English but communicated with us on her phone, She was always helpful, offering us extra firewood but it was not needed as the weather had warmed up and central heating kept us warm anyway, Beware the place takes some finding, We used Google maps, The whole place was spotlessly clean and there was plenty of hot water, if you are looking for an experience in the middle of the Galician countryside this is the place, 30 minutes by car from Ourense, Don' t miss Ourense, Ainsleys from Co. Durham in England.

Comfortable house, recently renovated. Everything was new, comfortable beds, kitchen well equiped with large fridge and freezer. We liked the roof terrace a lot. You will find the kitchen and living room on the ground floor, bedrooms on the second and on top another cosey room with a couch which we used as second living room but bigger families may turn the couch into a bed. There is a bathroom (guest WC on the ground floor) on every floor. The location is great: nice walks in the immediate sourroundings and Chantada is close (at 3 km). Chantada is charming whereas Monforte de Lemos - apart from the three buildings promoted- did not convince us. Chantada, despite being tiny, offers a lot you may wish for and the historic centre invites for hanging around. The host was very friendly and attentive. Last but not least: We recommend a visit to Monte de Faro for its stunning views.
