A fascinating city which is linked by lots of small streets in the old town. Easily accessible by train and no need to hire a car in the city. It has a huge modern shopping area which is vast and lots of walking can make it very accessible for tours and places of interest which is vastly spread out, great food. A great 2 night, 3 day vacation can accomplish the complete tourist aspect of this city
It is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited due to it’s history; the grand Mosque/ Cathedral and Medina Al Azahara. The streets in the old town are picturesque, whether you want to shop for gifts or just want to take a stroll soaking-up the ambience. The tourist information is next to the mosque/ cathedral if you want to arm yourself with good old hard copy of the map of the city as well other tourist information. The streets in the old city are walking friendly and everything is walkable apart from Medina Al Azahara, which you can get to by a dedicated air conditioned coach service for only few Euros, which we did but do book it advance as it’s limited in service and seats. When you get to the Al Azahara centre, watch the animated film before visiting the ruins as this will give you the history behind the place. Cordobians generally are very friendly and welcoming but beware as a Muslim you are not allowed to prayer in the grand cathedral (former mosque), which I did in the courtyard but was told off for it by the security guards. Plenty of halal places to eat - got to give a big shout to Pasillo Oriental their food was delicious. Try out their Kushari dish, bags of flavour and textures as well being suitable for vegetarians, if you don’t fancy eating meat.
The point of Cordoba is the amazing architecture across the Roman, Islamic and Medieval periods all on show in the Old Town and the show piece historic buildings. But it’s also a great place to go for super food and wine at prices so much better than we have to suffer in the UK. Coffee for one and a half Euros made us realise that places like Costa Coffee are now such a rip off at more than twice the price. Even Wetherspoons seems expensive when compared to local Spanish beer and wine at 2 or 3 Euros…We should all stop paying silly UK prices and force a higher level of competition between our British pubs and coffee shops…
Really interesting city full of charm and history. Plenty of tourists but they don't impact on the experience or cost of drinks or food. brilliant bodegas, tapas bars and restaurants and a very gastronomical experience for us. Take the hop on / hop off bus to see the sights from a different perspective..Be prepared for lots of walking through narrow streets so wear comfy shoes and don't forget it gets hot ! Probable need 4 days to do the old town and sights justice
Cordoba is a lively city but not like Barcelona or Madrid. It has a sort of quiet charm that wants to be discovered. No wonder it's called the city of a thousand courtyards. You have to come explore it for yourself. Getting around is simple and safe. Everything can be reached on foot. Parking would be best at the car park at Paseo de la Victoria. It's central and perfect for moving around. You pay on the first floor only. Eating out, as always in Spain, is joyful and affordable. We attended the Flamenco Show at El Cardenal, which was a real highlight I can recommend.
It is a very interesting city with a lot to see. Our hotel was in the heart of the old town and very convenient for everything. It was extremely hot when we visited the town but we managed to make the most of it by visiting the Mosque and the town for shopping. There are plenty of really nice restaurants and there is a nice atmosphere in the city.
Best hotel during my Spanish stay, 5* at this price is definitely amazing. Great hotel rooms, bed very comfortable, very big bathroom. I love that there are disposable home shoes available as well. The windows are super large with a beautiful view. Superb breakfast even if u go late it keeps being re-supplied. Rooftop swimming pool and sun chairs are a big plus. Staff very friendly too. Only across the street from the historical center and 15min from the train station.
The room was big enough, it had everything, the bathtub was big, the restroom, and the bed was king size. The staff were so kind and the breakfast was wonderful, the only thing missing was honey, maybe it was there but I didn’t see it. The only disadvantage is that the hotel is a little bit far from the attractions of Cordoba, but overall I enjoyed being there and if I will be back one day to Cordoba, I will choose this hotel without hesitation.
Córdoba
Incredible "hostel" that is really a hotel, with luxury level amenities and a MASSIVE bathroom that is spotless. The entire experience was flawless. This is easily the best hostel if not one of the best hotels I've stayed in over multiple trips in Spain. The location is also perfect as it's close to many attractions, the train station, a taxi stand, and just off the beaten path so it's absolutely silent at night.
The room is really in the city center and it has a parking place which is a great bonus. The whole hotel is clean, nicely furnitured and equiped with everything you need. The room is exactly like the pictures, everything clean, nice and comfortable. Manuel was the best host during our stay in Spain - give you great tips about the city, help you with everything you need and make you great breakfast and coffee. :)
I happened to travel on the day severe floods had totally disrupted the rail network in Spain. Although the hotel allows check-in till midnight, it was clear that - if I managed to get to Cordoba - I would arrive much later. Management was extremely generous and flexible and decided to wait for me anyway. Luckily I made it for 1am. Very nice to have access to the baths.
The hotel is perfect for visiting all the important Cordoba attractions. It is located across from the Mezquita and has a private parking which is very important because the parking places in the old town are limited. I recommend booking a room with parking. Breakfast is varied and very good. The bathroom is very well equipped.
Córdoba
Awesome hotel in the historic center of Cordoba. Close to restaurants, sites, and the mesquita. Paid parking worked well and we were allowed to leave our car parked into the following afternoon while we explored the city. Helpful staff, and the five bed room worked perfectly for our family. Staff spoke Spanish and English.
Córdoba
"This is my best accommodation so far from the time I have booked apartments in Spain. Everything is superb and valuable for the money. The owner, Luis, is a very nice guy who is always ready to assist in case of anything. It was a really nice time during my stay."
it is just 450 meters way from Cordoba’s train station. when arriving you reach hotel soon and when leaving you can walk to the station easily. it is also close to the city’s main attractions and the historic town of Cordoba. The staff at the reception desk were helpful.
Located in close enough to be in just a couple minutes at any significant point of interest in Cordoba but in the same time in a quiet area. Hotel has a parking lot which is very important if you travel by car. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Córdoba
Amazing hostel! The best I stayed in during my 2 weeks in Spain. Big room, with nice clean beds. Nice kitchen area. But really the room and bathrooms were the highlight. Was finally able to take an enjoyable shower and have good sleep!
Perfect location, very central for all attractions. The hotel and staff were excellent! Breakfast was the best ever, everything was so fresh and beautifully presented. We would definitely recommend the hotel and stay there again.
The staff were all incredibly helpful. I liked that they notified the police so we could drive to and from the hotel in Cordoba. Location was excellent Having a pool was a bonus
Amazing apartment and beautiful patio. Good location close to everything. Teresa, the manager, was very helpful and full of positive energy. Best stay in Spain!
Decent location. Kinda of business location. Not in neighborhood. About 20 min walk to Jewish Quarter, etc. Bed was best I’ve slept on in Spain. I like FIRM.
This was the best serviced hotel I stayed in Spain. All staff was very helpful and friendly which a bit difficult to find in large and chain hotels in Spain.
Very nice and special boutique hotel. Lovely ten rooms and amazing views to La Mezquita.
