Logrono is good for food and especially wine. The old town is nice but not as pretty as Burgos or Haro. There is a modern shopping centre (Carrefour) at East side of Logrono which is easy to get to and has a petrol station if driving on further.
The “capital” of Rioja, it is a vibrant community. Great restaurant experience at Cocina de Ramon - wow! Plenty to do but we were interested in wine tastings. Luckily we had a car and visited Haro, Elicego & Cenicero for outstanding experiences. Highly recommend Cune, Marques de Riscal (Frank Gehry) and Tritium for a small family operation. All were different and superb!
Logrono has a new town full of shops if wanted but I was mostly interested in the beautiful old town which is great for walking around seeing the sights and picking restaurants. We loved walking across the iron bridge and back along the stone bridge and there is a nice river walk. There was a wine tasting place we didn't get to but we bought their Reserva in a restaurant in Segovia which was very nice.
Very busy city in the heart of the Rioja region. Lots of good eating establishments. If we were to go back to the are we probably wouldn't stay in the city centre next time as there are lots of beautiful towns and villages in quieter locations. The restaurant Meson El Cid off Gonzalez Berceo was one of the best meals we've ever had in Spain.
We enjoyed the wine festival with plenty of entertainment. We are considering the Festival in June next year. We ate at a small Italian restaurant in the old part of the town which was very friendly and reasonably priced. There is a lovely walk in the park which is very easy to find.
City is beautiful lots of quaint streets and great Tapas bars and restaurants... Very difficult to choose but managed to find somewhere to eat.Great bustling nightlife on a Wednesday night easy to sit and “people watch” .
