Would recommend a visit to the museum and all of the churches. The little train was a fun way to get your bearings and €8 was good value for money. The harbour boat trip is worth doing as well.
A lovely place to lose hours by just wandering around!

Mahon is great for a short break or longer if you want to travel to other bits of the island.
We walked to Es Castell and visisted the military museum. Free entry and worth the trip. Then down to harbour for lunch at El Chivito. Lovely trip out

We always stay in Mahon when we visit Menorca as we love...
We always stay in Mahon when we visit Menorca as we love being based in the town. We use a hire car to visit beaches and other places of interest. It's easy to walk around the town, plenty of streets to explore with interesting buildings and shops. We never tire of the views overlooking the harbour. Plenty of great restaurants along the harbour front and up in the town.

Mahon is a walkable, pretty and very clean city, with excellent bars, cafes and restaurants. The Museum of Menorca is outstanding. The rest of the island is in easy reach by car. The whole island is beautiful, and a week was just the right amount of time for us to explore it.

The highlight of our trip was a boat trip to the Ile del Rei and a tour of the islands 18th century hospital.
We also visited Ciutadella which had been the capital. It was very easy travelling by the No.10 bus and took just an hour. A lovely day trip.

Mahon is a lovely town where you can actually do loads of...
Mahon is a lovely town where you can actually do loads of walking and if you're feeling adventurous you can go for a swim South of the port, which is about 20 minutes away on foot.
Quite a few different places to eat and with a bus station serving all parts of the island with a visit to Ciutadella definitely worth your time.
Met quite a few people that were using the town as a one-night stopped as part of some kind of food race or alternatively getting on a bus to somewhere and then walking along the coast and getting the bus back.
If you like some technical and testing mountain biking it's definitely worth hiring a mountain bike for the day and hit one of the coast line tracks which are impressive but hard work.

Wonderful, peaceful location basically on the water with stunning views of Fortaleza fort and spectacular dramatic fortifications. The property is very cozy and doesn’t feel like a bare bones holiday rental. It feels like a home. There is ample heating which is essential for Menorcan winters. Fully supplied kitchen with everything you need to cook. The owner Stephen was very responsive and we were able to book this on very short notice due to a failure with another rental on Airbnb. Definitely recommend and will be back!

Everything! Sonia, made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived at the hotel. She was professional, warm, helpful and pro active in helping us with information and bookings. The hotel itself has been beautifully restored. Breakfast was served in the lovely courtyard upstairs. Freshly made biscuits everyday was a treat.
Every part of the hotel made you feel at home. Staff were so helpful. Highly recommend it for your stay in Mahon. Thank you Sonia and the staff at Can Alberti.

We arrived in our family suite to find a bottle of bubbles and some cakes, a lovely surprise. Location is fab as you can walk to local restaurants along the Harbour, staff are lovely and very helpful. Love the breakfast there, plenty of choice. Best of all for us, a 10 min taxi from the the airport to the hotel, and no one every argues over the sunbeds, there are plenty all day.

The hotel was well positioned in the historic centre of Mahon, perfect walking distance to most attractions. The spa and sauna area were great amenities to access after a long day, just make sure you book in early! Room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was so tasty!
