I am walking the Camino but want a private room with my own bath rather than being in a hostel/alberque. Molinaseca is a beautiful little town but I am unsure why anyone would visit it unless they were visiting family/friends or doing the Camino.
A fine Camino stopping place, with character and options for dining and sleeping. The river location is refreshing. Livelier than many of the smaller and almost deserted Camino towns, with a feeling of community.
Molinaseca is a stop on the Camino de Santiago and that is why I was there. It's a charming, walkable little town with a lovely waterfront area along the river. There were lots of places to sit along the river bank, and people were swimming as well. There are lots of cafes and restaurants, as well as pharmacies and a grocery store. There were two churches but I did not get a chance to see them. The streets are very narrow and auto traffic is minimal. A wonderful break from walking.
The river by the Roman bridge, upon entering, was breathtakingly beautiful. The little park by its side draws all the locals in the afternoon for games of football, basketball, and evening drinks... Magical!
Charming if somewhat commercial. Which is only to be expected. The village clock is six minutes slow. When I mentioned this to a local he said that it always had been. They have tried to fix it but it goes back to being six minutes slow every time! Ah! Spain!!
Wonderful boutique stylish hotel with bar and restaurant, hands down one of the best chefs on the Camino. Our room was clean and spacious with a landline phone. And our bathroom had a tub and toiletries. Wonderful and attentive staff during our dinner (two men) and breakfast (two ladies). The only downside which is minor is that there is no washing or service, and since we’re on the Camino we’re in a habit of washing everyday. A must stay at least for dinner and drinks!
Casa San Nicolas was a charming and welcoming gift in the delightful small town of Molinaseca. Very much in the spirit of the Camino, a caring and very friendly welcome designed for pilgrims. The property is historical, right in the centre close to the church, river and bridge. Highly recommended ... also, don’t miss a swim in the river just by the Roman bridge.
Very welcoming staff. Really comfy modern and clean room. Superb location right near Medieval bridge so was able to go for a cooling swim in the river right outside the hotel after hot climb over from Rabenal. Highly recommended.
Lovely large apartment in beautiful Molinaseca. The host was very welcoming and went out of his way to assist us...making our (all too brief) stay hugely enjoyable .
Great treat to stay in this hotel while walking the Camino. Loved the river and bridge view from our window. Somewhat of a splurge but worth every penny.
The hotel is near the bridge and is very nice. Great place to stay. The host offers an excellent pilgrim’s dinner and has a vegetarian option.
Jesus and Eva are great hosts! The location is perfect on the main Street of Molinaseca. Family feeling. Very nice breakfast.
Clean and spacious room overlooking the street. Was centrally located in Molinaseca.
