Dinner was excellent. Very good value. Portions were large. Food was beautifully prepared. Nice cold lager on tap. Cold water. Free breakfast was also excellent. They made us eggs and bacon to order. It was make your own coffee which also was great. Many fruits and cold meats and cheeses to choose from. Also hard salami, slice your own. Bed was very comfortable. Room was clean and bright. Big tv.

I felt that I was being immersed in history, the narrow...

I felt that I was being immersed in history, the narrow streets were often pedestrian only, each one opened on several small plazas which contained bars, restaurants and shops. The people were polite and helpful even if we spoke fragmented Spanish and zero Catalan. At first Ripoll felt a little claustrophobic, but after a day we came to appreciate the narrow streets. It seemed possible that there would be a surprise around every bend. The restored Monastery is an absolute gem. I had the best Mexican food ever in El Taco Perdut. It's run by a young couple, the wife is from Mexico and the husband is Spanish. I've had excellent, authentic Mexican in Mexico, and I honestly didn't think I'd ever get better, but the tacos in El Taco Perdut were sublime.

Ripoll was the most beautiful place.

Ripoll was the most beautiful place. Our accommodation at “Can Vilardi” was most horrible. The operators are scammers trying blame renters for breaking the devices in the home that never worked before we arrived. They reported us to the police for breaking the driveway entry gate. We have videos and pictures and four eye witnesses to these statements. These people are SCAMMERS. AVOID IF POSSIBLE

This hotel is located a little out of town, and has the atmosphere almost of a ski lodge. Rooms are clean and modern, with a wonderfully strong pressure walk in shower. The restaurant is obviously a town favourite - Saturday lunch was full of locals celebrating birthdays and such. One visits Ripoll for the monastery - there's not much else here - and this place is fine for an overnight.

This is a charming renovated little hotel in beautiful area that was perfect for us as a base to walk and explore the local area. Having the private garden and fresh water pool was lovely. We were made to feel very welcome and well looked after. Very comfy bed and clean room. Highly recommend.
