A great base for Visiting the surrounding battlefields and cemeteries/ museums etc,but you need a car. The main centre of Arras has all the old buildings and historic squares, these come alive in the evening with the cafe's and restaurants filling up.

Arras has a unique charm of its own not only as being the oldest documentary attested city of France but also as a special mixture of historical sites and the modernity of the urban ambiance. Pages of history come to life when you do not expect. And there's also the friendly people there. The atmosphere of the two Places, le Beffroi in the historical center of the city are marvellous. If you fancy a thrill just go on a guided tour ...under the city to see the tunnels where soldiers organised their life an fights in the WWI. And there's much more. If you don't rush.

We stayed near two large town squares with loads of bars / cafes / restaurants both surrounded by wonderful architecture. We felt safe and walked back to our accommodation without any fears for our safety. It was May day and we were not sure if many places would be open but it was packed. They were tidying up a market when we arrived so we missed that but would definitely come back again, maybe for a few more days. Not sure about public transport and outside of the area we stayed in, but very pleased with our random choice.

We love Arras.
We love Arras. It's a shame we only ever stay enroute while travelling to the South of France. We've decided that we will make a proper holiday in the city in the future and take time to enjoy this vibrant place, as well as exploring the history and the WW1 battlefields.

This is a fantastic hotel. Great decor, lovely atmosphere.
This is a fantastic hotel. Great decor, lovely atmosphere. Table tennis table, fuzeball, street fighter arcade game - kids loved it. The rooms are quiet and cosy with great showers. We will definitely return!
Very clean and spacious room, comfortable bed and pillows. The exterior of the building is messy and is in a 'scruffy' courtyard but once inside, the hotel is very nice. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. Easy walk into the centre of Arras from the hotel and underground parking which was free for motorbikes
Central Arras is lovely and for us just close enough to the channel to use as a stopover either way. The hotel is far enough away form the centre to avoid what can be a noisy and boisterous town centre, but has good secure parking. Reasonable value, convenient and OK for a night's stay.
There are loads of places to shop, eat and drink on the doorstep. Only a 20min walk into the centre of Arras and it’s beautiful, vibrant square.
The hotel parking was excellent, plenty of it and secure. For most people this would be a stop over hotel.
This hotel is our preferred option when passing through Arras as we have done over many years. It's in a central location and is exactly what we want from a stopover.
