Located a 16-minute walk from Plage Terminus, Hôtel Merveilleux Côté Mer offers 4-star accommodations in Dunkerque and features a bar.

The hotel is highly rated on booking.com, so we had high expectations. The hotel still managed to exceed them. The room was cosy, the bed was comfortable, the small luxuries in the bathroom were a delight, and the shower was lovely. We arrived very late at night, but the late arrival process was very straightforward and clearly explained. We only met the owner briefly in the morning, but she was kind, professional, and she happily accepted my broken French and eventual switch to English. We are already looking forward to coming back.

For war history enthusiasts, Dunkerque is a must!

For war history enthusiasts, Dunkerque is a must! It's steeped in history. Lots to see and within a relatively small radius. Very easy to get further afield too, with Bruges being just an hour away aswell as easily accessible to Lille and other places of interest. Excellent ferry service with DFDS and only 30 minutes drive to the centre. There are street markets and some lovely bars and restaurants. Our favourite became Woll Street, with the fabulous Julian and team on hand, very friendly, great menu, outside and inside seating and a happy hour for drinks at the weekend. They even made a dish which wasn't on their menu for me and allowed me to buy some delicious pastries at a nearby bakery and eat them at the bar! Buses are free and an excellent service. The tourist information office is located in the beautiful Belfry and they are super helpful.

    Dunkerque has famous history.

Dunkerque has famous history. The beach was the site of that action. There is a museum to tell the story here. The beach is a large sandy beach with a promenade and restaurants. There is a sculpture garden, a marina and an art exhibition.

    A wonderful experience.

A wonderful experience. Our room on the 4th floor was fantastic! Beautiful sea view. Really delighted with our room, bathroom and facilities. The pool was very luxurious and relaxing. I’d love to come back and will do. Location was just beautiful!

    Hidden gem!

Hidden gem! The town itself has a rich history, but so do the beaches and forts. The museum’s really surprised us, as well as the Fort des Dunes, just to the east. Massive fort under the dunes! You have no clue it is even there and with amazing history! Owned by the Spanish, French, English, Belgians and Germans!

Dunquerque is a really nice town.

Dunquerque is a really nice town. It has great sailing and many marinas, and if you are equipped with a bicycle, which you can rent near the train station, you can go many miles along the shore. The restaurants are also quite good, though we visited only the ones on the boardwalk. Be sure to try La Pataterie. I like this place and I plan to return, but to a safer hotel.

Room was very large, well appointed. Modern furniture with a little kitchenette and breakfast table with chairs . Elevator access. Overlooked a large, enclosed garden. The hotel breakfast kitchen area was large and clean. Our room rate included a hot breakfast. The breakfasts were cooked to order. Friendly and helpful staff. Location was in the middle of town, very easy to walk through the town. Within walking distance to Dunkerque War Museum. We would stay here again.

Villa Marie is a very small hotel, but that makes it all the more charming. We loved the rooms which were individually decorated and arranged to meet the standards and amenities of any high quality hotel. The breakfast was personally made by the hotel owner who chatted with us in French, suggested ideas of what we could do in Dunkirk, and generally was an all-round lovely, helpful person.

Ideal central location with plenty of free parking behind the hotel. We paid for a room with view over the harbour looking out to sea, room 302. Worth the extra charge. Nice design, reflecting a ship's cabin and it had two chairs. Buffet breakfast provided as much to eat and drink as you wanted. Nice cheeses and fresh bread. Self service egg boiler was a nice touch.

The hotel offered a quick continental breakfast. We overslept because of the time difference and they still allowed us to eat, which was nice. The room was comfortable and so were the beds. We were traveling with two teens and they each had their own bed. The room was quiet and dark.

We thought it was a cheap hotel but turns out it was a youth hostel. The staff were brilliant and because we were traveling as a family, we all had a great time because everyone was catered for. Loved the location... 5 minutes to the sea. Loved the freedom the older children could have.

This is a wonderfully placed hotel on the new frontage of Dunkirk. Everything was perfect during our stay. Even when the restaurant was fully booked for the evening the hotel staff booked another restaurant on our behalf to ensure we were covered. Excellent service all round

I always like the 24h checkin desk - it is a big help if arriving late. Buffet breakfast always good at IBIS too. Hotel is a little away from the centre-ville area, but there are restaurants etc in the area. Close to the Operation Dynamo musée and beaches.
