Set in La Salle Les Alpes in the Serre-Chevalier ski resort, Hotel Mont Thabor Serre Chevalier features accommodations with free WiFi in some parts of the property. Excellent. I just got back from a week at mont thabor and had a brilliant time. The staff were so friendly and hospitable, they couldn't do enough to help. Fantastic service and very helpful. Wonderful cozy room. My only tiny criticism is there wasn't a coffee maker in my room which isn't the end of the world. Fantastic holiday and I look forward to coming again.

La Salle-les-Alpes
Located in La Salle Les Alpes, 2625 feet from Serre Chevalier Villeneuve Ski School, Résidence Odalys Aquisana features an indoor swimming pool, a hammam and ski storage space. The online checkin is a very nice feature, because it allowed us to avoid the queue at the reception and to get the room earlier, immediately after it was clean and ready. We received a very nice room at the 4th floor, the inside stairs were very well appreciated by the kids. The living was very spacious, the sensation being amplified by the height (on two levels, 4th and 5th). The hotel is very close to the center (3 minutes by car, 10 minutes by foot) and the ski bus station is right in front of it. In the period we stayed, we found free parking places very easily, but there are also plenty of paid, covered places. I will gladly return at this hotel when I will be again in Serre Chevalier.

I'd say try to book your holiday not too far in advance. This is difficult because resorts sell out, but if you're planning to ski you want there to be a lot of snow. We booked months in advance so there w as no guarantee it'd be super snowy and not warm and melty. It was a bit of the latter, unfortunately. Also check the dates of public school holidays for French kids (and British kids too, probably). Our holiday coincided with a French public school holiday which made for some very very crowded skiing and high anxiety. I'd recommend Le Swallow in the village for apres ski and dinner. There are plenty of more "traditional"-looking places to eat and drink around, but we found that the people here were so consistently nice (Arnaud and Natacha) that we didn't want to eat or drink anywhere else. Their food was also much better than at some of the other places that pop up on google maps or tripadvisor. I'll write a separate review for them later... :)
Lots off runs. Some lovely tree lined routes. BBQ areas up the mountain, just pack some meats and salads, turn up and cook for free, whilst enjoying great scenery. ESI Buissonnière in Villeneuve is great with smaller class sizes than other ski schools and English speaking instructors.
Some really nice restaurants but we're mostly booked out due to the Etape du Tour when we were there. Great base for cycling with Alp D'Huez, Gallibiere and Col d'Izoard all close by. La Marotte restaurant is tiny and was closed on Sunday so we didn't try it. L'eau Petit Pont looked good but was over stretched and we waited so long for our food that we were close to leaving without eating.
Staff really friendly! I can not understand or believe how people say otherwise! if you come on a vacation mood, you have everything you need in this nice cosy hotel. The massage sportif was perfect, with a nice spa, with both sauna and hammam. We had nice drinks in their rustic and cosy bar and ate a delicious Menu and a Raclette . ;o). What else? Definetely we will come back. Thank you for you hospitality.

Excellent location near the Serre Chevalier ski resort. Availability of on-site ski and equipment rentals was nice. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and spa area each day after skiing. The hotel restaurant and bar were also convenient.
