On average, 3-star hotels in Menton cost $139 per night, and 4-star hotels in Menton are $227 per night. If you're looking for something really special, a 5-star hotel in Menton can be found for $274 per night, on average (based on Booking.com prices).
Beautiful town! Make sure you visit the old town both on foot and with the little train, that tour is worth it, which is not the case everywhere. Great pirate boat play area for kids by the market hall, which is beautiful and also worth the visit to buy your lunch at. Visit the Jean Cocteau exhibit. I find the évents around the fête du citron expensive. We only bought tickets to go to the jardins biovès, and we really enjoyed what we saw. All in all we had a good time in Menton but it was quite expensive for a family of 5 with 3 kids. Train tickets (80€), one night in a hotel (135€ with breakfast) lunch in a bakery (35€) dinner in a restaurant (116€) lunch at the market (25€) tour on the little train (34€), entry to the citron exhibit (34€) with souvenirs, we totaled 480€ spent in 30h in Menton!!!! Next time we will camp or swap houses and buy our food at the market!
A really fabulous small city on the edge of France and almost to Italy. Lot of great restaurants and the beach is lovely too. You will encounter lot of italians here and the cuisine shows it. The location is not far from Monte Carlo by car or by bus - we did both - and equally good. If you want to drive - get a car, otherwise the public bus system is really good and really inexpensive.
Stayed for 3 nights in Menton and used it as a base to go to Monaco and other beaches along the coast. Menton as a town really surprised me and was enjoyable to wander around it, especially at night when it got cooler and people were out. Lots of great restaurants to eat in and bars/cafes to sit in and watch the world go by over a beer. I would recommend staying here as a gateway to Monaco as way cheaper and a very pleasant seaside town to stay in.
So glad we stayed in Menton versus Monaco or Nice. Menton has a more laid back vibe that we felt was better for our family. We would love to go back to explore more and check out the lemon festival. We recommend reserving a spot on the beach so you have better access to the bar and clean bathrooms. We stayed at Imperial Plage and loved the softer pebble sand compared to the rocky (painful) beaches of Nice. It can get crowded. The town had great window shopping and fun stores to explore. Getting around was easiest by renting a car. We did take an uber to Monaco for a night out at Casinos with friends and the ride was reasonably priced, easy and allowed us to stay out longer than public transportation.
Menton is a good starting point to travel to Monaco, Nice (I would recommend Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild). Would also recommend private beached (Les Sablettes and La Sauvage): they are much more enjoyable than the public ones (price is approx. 20 euro/ person/day)
A family-run hotel in the vicinity of the city center of Menton. Location is nice - close to the station, close to the promenade and very close to the city center. The staff are multilingual (French, English and Italian) and very polite. There is an elevator to the upper floors (including reception), a TV in the room (French channels only) and an air conditioner. Was comfortable overall, however the price is a bit on the high end for what you get.
An electric kettle with tea and coffee stuff in my room was just great, many 4* hotels do not offer this. Breakfast was very good, with fresh orange juice and great capuccino better than in many 4* accomodations I've visited. The roof terrace was empty due to the cold season so we arranged a kind of a picnic with my colleague, with a spectacular mountain view at sunset. The best Menton restaurants are just 2 minutes away.
I loved this hotel. Staff was very kind and welcoming, they had a room ready for me before the checkin hour. The hotel itself is between the train station and the old town of Menton (around 12 min walking distance from the train and 5 min walking distance from the sea). Plenty of restaurants and supermarket very close by. The room had a modern feeling, usual Ibis style, quiet & clean with a big balcony.
This is our favorite hotel in the area. We return there almost every year. The sea view from the balcony is amazing! We enjoyed it a lot. There are also free parking spots available just in front of the hotel or in the neighborhood. We like that the hotel is not directly in the center of Menton, but if you don’t mind walking, you can reach everything by foot pretty easily.
Hosts were wonderful. View was excellent. Outdoor cabana was a wonderful place to relax. We spent a good amount of time there. Did not use pool. We will not be in France again for some time. Communication was excellent and very accommodating. They prepared a meal for us when we arrived and offered transportation to and from town. Good location for travels.
Everything was perfect. I booked this double-room with sea view ages ago for a special birthday. It was even better than photos. I think this is best hotel/ experience/ sea view I’ve ever stayed in. I would really, love to come back one day ...
Caroline is great. She take care to give us free parking near hotel. Guide us in our visit. The hotel very clean. Just 50 meters from see. And the low price deserve all we got. Thank u Caroline. Hoping to come again to Menton to your hotel.
The apartment was impeccable. Very clean and spacious for the 3 of us. Host was accommodating and very responsive. Would recommend and stay here again if ever back in Menton.
Location was good for walking the town and going to the beach The view from our room on the 4th floor was very lovely and the hotel was quiet
Special honey mooners The suite is very nice Breakfast buffet The Suoer U just next to the hotel
Cheap and basic hotel ideal for a stopover in Menton. Room clean and comfortable.
Location was okay but it is a very tired hotel.
Very nice small hotel
We enjoyed the full breakfast buffet very much. The location of the hotel and the view from our room was tres agreable and we so enjoyed seeing the ocean between the buildings. In the incredible hot weather the air conditioning was wonderful. (I don't think we could have remained without it!) Your staff were friendly, kind, helpful. We needed your elevator, great!
Very close to the train station and to the beach. Clean, modern and surprisingly big room for a hotel in France. I liked that the room had 2 balconies and the garden was pretty. Excellent value for money. I would stay again here.
The staff were absolutely lovely and the room was great. The bed was super. Although there was no air conditioning there was a large fan which worked really well in cooling down the room.
The location is excellent. The view from the 4th floor is amazing. It is pretty quiet. The building is by itself a tourist attraction.
