The room was great: charming, clean and quiet. The hotel itself was much better than one could have expected from the price. In fact, I only planned to stay here for two nights, but stayed another two nights because of the good room, and also the good location of Mulhouse. I had initially planned to stay two nights in Strasbourg, but figured this was much better: it's close to Basel, Strasbourg and the mountains (take the train to Thann or Kurth), and Mulhouse itself is a cosy town. A few tips for eating: the nearby Italian (Bacio) and French (du something) restaurants on the square by the hotel, and for breakfast - as always, I skip the hotel breakfast - the popular patisserie (P something) down the street. By the way, the room has all commodities one could ask for, so it worked well for four nights.

The staff was very friendly to me. The hotel is clean and comfortable and perfect temperature. It is a nice place to sleep before hitting the road again the next morning. It is nothing flashy as it is a budget hotel and it appears to be an old Ibis Budget hotel. I would for sure stay here again. The parking is so easy. The rates are perfect for me as I need affordable.

A History of Setting Wheels in Motion
Although Mulhouse has a colourful historic centre with cobbled squares and half-timbered houses, the city is best known for its industry. Textile production shot the city into the limelight, a fact detailed in the Museum of Printed Textiles.
The world’s largest train collection is in the multi-coloured French National Railway Museum, next to the Electropolis electricity museum. The National Automobile Museum is also the world’s largest and features the Schlumpf Collection of classic cars and an exhibition track. To the east is the Parc Expo Mulhouse event centre, while west is the train station.
The heart of the city is Place de la Réunion where pavement cafes overlook the 16th-century town hall, decorated with frescoes and a 2-sided staircase. The Mulhouse Christmas market is held here at the foot of the Protestant St Stephen’s Church with its towering spire.
The Catholic church of the same name also has a tall tower, and the Tour de l’Europe is a modern skyscraper with a restaurant on top. Its 3 sides face France, Switzerland and Germany, reflecting the history of the Alsace which was under Swiss and German rule before joining France once and for all.
EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg also serves the 3 countries, and Booking.com has a good range of luxury hotels, and cheap apartments and B&Bs nearby.

Romchemへの乗継ぎの経由地として選んだだけで、ミュルーズのことは全く知らずに宿泊を決めました。しかし、着いてみるととても魅力的な街で公園、美術館などがこぢんまりした教会を中心にした街中にあり、トラムを利用すればかなり自由に市内を楽しめました。自動車博物館も自動車に興味のない私でもとても楽しめました。博物館内のカフェもオシャレでスタッフも感じが良かったです。 レストランは多種多様に沢山あるので、その日の気分で選べます。 鉄道博物館には行けなかったのですが、時間があれば行きたかったです。 そして、ドレフュウズ事件のドレフュウズの生地であることを市の博物館で知り興味深かったです。
