Located in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Charme et jardin cœur St Cirq features a garden and a terrace. The air-conditioned rooms provide a city view and come with a closet and free WiFi. Everything - Marie, our host, was welcoming & friendly, helpful (helped carry some luggage to the 2nd floor), full of information (what to see in and outside St Cirq, where to eat in the village, where to park), and made sure each day that our stay was perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped for even a long-term stay with coffee maker, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, stove, cookware, etc. We unfortunately weren't able to take advantage of the beautiful garden because of the weather. The "gite" was spacious with a high ceiling as it was on the 2nd (top) floor, with a nice view of the town hall.
Located in Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, 24 mi from Rocamadour, and a 10-minute drove from Pech Merle Caves, Le Mas de Laval features free WiFi access in the public areas and free private parking. Very beautiful property, great setting and amazing pool. The hosts were wonderful and the breakfast was very delicious. We received a free parking ticket to visit Saint-Cirq-Lapopie and the hostess gave us a map and tips about the region. Would definitely recommend this to our friends and family!
This residence is located in unspoiled forest just 1.9 mi from shops in the village of Saint Cirq Lapopie. The staff were absolutely lovely, very laid-back and very helpful; not at all formal which put us immediately at ease. The cabin that we stayed in was very clean, well equipped and had great views from up in the woods over the campsite. Would easily reccommend!
Indeed one of the most beautiful villages! Not all the stores and restaurants were open as my visit was in October which is not peak season but that wasn't an issue. There were still plenty of good restaurants to visit.
Loved Saint-Cirq-Lapopie. Wonderfully preserved small old village in a beautiful position high above the Lot river. We really only had one day so spent the morning exploring the town and in afternoon we drove to Bouzies and walked the first kilometer of the towpath back to St-Cirq-Lapopie, and we had a tour of Perche-Merle caves. Could have stayed much longer and spent more time exploring the village and the walking paths nearby. Could have also walked the whole towpath and got a boat for the return trip. Pleas note that Perch Merle caves which are amazing and well worth the visit need to be booked well in advance in summer, either on website which I found difficult, or by ringing which was easy. Dont be put off if you can only get a French speaking tour. They give you a booklet with all the information in English. Finally after we left St-Cirq-Lapopie we went south to Najac which is another bastide town and evn better preserved than St-Cirq-. Lapopie. Well worth a visit
We loved our visit to St Cirq Lapopie and had great weather so we enjoyed swimming in the river, as well as walking in the town and surrounds, plus visits to other nearby attractions, particularly Pech Merle. As you can tell from any photo it is quite a steep village and any visit will involve stairs
Truly historic feel to this medieval village. We did the river walk and climbed up to the village. Great views on the climb up across the river valley and from the village itself. Streets can be steep and with cobblestones (as you would expect from a village this old).
