Charming village with nice shops and restaurants. Plenty of wine tasting right in town. Highly recommend booking a tour with Sancerre-wine tours, Laure our host was fabulous and very personable. Loved the stop in Chavignol for goat cheese tasting.
My girlfriend and I are in the wine industry in California and stopped for 3 days in Sancerre while traveling from Paris to Lyon. Sancerre is a small town, and in the off season it’s even smaller, so be prepared before going. The wine in the area is great and the wineries will be happy to have you visit, but you have to get there first. The train station is just a small bus stop type shelter and unmanned. Getting a taxi at the train station is problematic. So it’s best to drive there. There are a host of restaurants for such a small town, and the few places we tried had quite nice food. Regrettably, most of them ween’t open on a regular basis in March. If you don’t mind walking, there are quite a few good wineries within a 2 mile walk. We highly recommend the Brasserie Sancerrois, a local brewery with great beer - try the Brune au Gruyt.
As we were there on business (wine) we really enjoyed the wine shops, the wine in the restaurants and the wine museum which was really quite informative. People were very nice and friendly. The stunning view from the village is a panoramic of vineyards and the Loire River. It was an easy drive to our appointments. Really loved it.
Awesome town! We came during off season but stores and restaurants were still open! Great to taste wine in one area with different "caves" in one little town! Absolutely LOVED THE BEAUTIFUL SHOP that sold everything! So many different levels and rooms to explore! I think it was called Boutique à Sancerre on 16 Rue des trois piliers where we tasted wine and bought a bottle of Pinot Noir-Coeur à Prendre!

No this hotel room was not what we expected, we paid for a suite and did not get a suite. We were very disappointed in the hotel and not to our expectation. We booked with you last year and stayed at the Panoramic Hotel which was far superior to our liking. The hotel we stayed in was so out of date and wouldn't stay there again. Kind Regards Mrs Christine Middleton

Great hosts, very gracious and fun to talk to. Clean large rooms with very cool interior woodworking. Sancerre is a beautiful village and this was right inside the village so that you could walk to all. The property is completely in sync with the village look and feel. Would stay there again.
