Nice, friendly hotel right in the centre of Thones, less than 30 minutes away from Lake Annecy. Our family room was nice and spacious. Bathroom a bit dated but very clean. We didn't try the buffet breakfast (10 euro pp) as there was a little boulangerie across the road that served French coffee and a pastry for 2.50 - check it out if you have the time. The hotel mentions free parking - the parking is actually a public parking in the street behind the hotel (Rue de la Tournette) and the hotel is accessible via a covered walkway. We went in August and found a parking space but it is not possible to reserve it. The hotel is right in the centre of Thones, close to lots of restaurants/church/market (on a Saturday). Thones itself is a very pretty village.

The room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The road on which the hotel is located is quite busy but you don't notice that after a while and if you keep windows closed. Accessing the room was interesting - we sort of had to figure out the location of our room ourselves but it was okay. The hotel has an elevator - which we saw after lugging luggage. Again, okay.

We liked the location, the room which was a suite, the breakfast which was delivered to our room each day and the staff could not have been more helpful. The location was close to Thones which had plenty of good restaurants. The view from our room was georgeous. The breakfast was fantastic. We ordered the breakfast from a long list of items and it was delivered promptly each day. The room was huge and divided into sections. It was lovely. It was also very peaceful. We had excellent weather too.We would also like to thank them for the gift package they gave us at the end of our stay. This was because of building work that did not affect us at all. Totally unnecessary but much appreciated.

Without doubt, the most stunning balcony you'll ever sit on. Chez Alphonse is a diamond in the mountains. The accommodation has everything you may need and much more, the bed was large and comfortable, the shower was large and sumptuous, the kitchen was fully functional, the living room was a joy to relax in and watch dvds in the evening on a really good size screen. But the balcony,, you need to experience it to believe it, the view of mountains all around you and not just in the distance but right in front of you! The photos of the views from the balcony don't come close to the actual views, they are stunning. Sabine the host is warm and welcoming and if you like cheese she will tell you where to get the best.

The apartment is very fonctionable and well maintained. The hosts are really invested in our well being and open to suggestions to better further stays in the apartment. They also are very accommodating in case of a late arrival (which was my case).

everything. if you are passing through or near thônes this is a great flat for anyone. it has everything you could need. lots of cutlery and pots and coffee/tea machines etc, magazines, books, toys for children. so tidy and clean. big balcony with table and chairs and shutters for the windows and balcony at night. this place is amazing.

Amazing chalet in the mountain. It has everything you need for comfortable stay. Kitchen fully equipped, very clean and most important very calm with fresh air.
