We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a week’s stay in North Wales. It was the perfect spot in which to relax as it is away from the crowds and has a lovely beach. There are a couple of hotels, and one or two gift shops. We stayed and ate at the Ty Gwesty. There appeared to be coastal walks from the village but we didn’t do them.
Aberdaron is a small village at the end of the Llyn peninsula, with a beautiful beach and lots of history, being on the ancient pilgrim route to Bardsey Island. Do visit the 12th Century church of St Hywyn right by the beach. For a small place the local facilities are very good - 2 hotels with good restaurants (stayed at both and recommend both of them), a chippy whch serves lobster and crab, 2 cafes (one in a 9th century building), a bakery with tempting treats and an ice-cream and pizza shop by the beach (recommend their pizzas!)
A stunning area with stunning beaches all with short distance of our fantastic hotel plenty of walks around the coastline Just a perfectly stunning place to relax for a few days or maybe a week Bakery and chip shop both fantastic along with the ice cream and pizza cabin
Absolutely stunning views, a few local shops, the bakery has a lovely selection of cakes and pies and the staff are so helpful. The little cafe in the village is very hit and miss as to when its open, diesnt seem to have any regular opening hours. Both pubs in the village are welcoming we only ate at gwesty, would recommend booking in advanced as gets busy in peak times, especially the terrace with the views overlooking the sea. Will most definitely be back to aberdaron 👍👍👍
If you enjoy walking along a coast line this is the perfect location. It is an idyllic location, with a beach, pub, church, hotel, bakery & cafe...what more do you need? Everyone was so friendly. So quiet - only the sound of the sea!
Such a great find. Family and dog friendly, stunning scenery. 2 hotels on/by beach. Shops, cafes x2, ice cream 10-8pm daily. Fish and chips and local Spa shop. Church and sea views with fabulous beach. 30 mins from Abersoch Incredible stay far too short will definitely return Local people were incredibly friendly. Highly recommended.
