This is a very new well done property with friendly owners but is quite a way from most things 45 minute drive for fuel and shopping) but if that is what you want it is ideal. The rooms are lovely but the carpets I was paranoid I was going to mark ( even though I had taken my boots off!) Lovely breakfast

The scenery beyond the sight was glorious. A ruined castle by the water made a lovely walk and the drive around the loch was very pretty if slow going. Very polite drivers on that road was an added bonus.

Handy local shop with good variety of food and other essentials. Loved Loch Shiel famous for Bonnie Prince Charlie sailing on it to raise his standard at Glenfinnan. Castle Tioram, a stronghold of the MacDonalds is well worth a visit, along a narrow single track road, for the setting alone. Built in the 13th century by the MacDonald, Lord of the Isles. It is situated in a strategic location on a rocky tidal island of Eilean Tioram at the confluence of Loch Moidart and the River Shiel, occupying the whole summit of the rock in Moidart.

We ate dinner and breakfast in the restaurant of our hotel, Mingarry Park, and the food was wonderful. We did not spend too much time around Acharacle, but we did take an evening drive out to the Tioram Castle and that was lovely. Just watch the tide. We walked around the castle for a while and when we were headed back to the car, the tide had started to come in and we had to wade through some shallow water. Not a big deal for us at all, but I'm not sure how high the water gets.
I stayed at Mingarry Park recently whilst showing my Swedish Girlfriend the wonders of Scotland. We both work on luxury superyachts so have an eye for fine service and we very much enjoyed the service provided at Mingarry Park. There were very nice touches in our room, my favourite being the binoculars to watch the deer. The balcony was perfect for watching the sunset across the hills and sip prosecco.
We had dinner in the restaurant which was a very homely atmosphere with a wonderful slated fireplace in the centre. The food was local and superb and we'll certainly be back!
“Outstanding food. Dinner and individually cooked breakfast both perfectly executed and delicious. Very comfortable beds. Spacious modern shower room. Beautiful view from room. Ideal location for exploring Ardnamurchan and Moidart.”
“The location was in a very quiet, unspoilt part of Scotland and we were made welcome by the owner. We liked the fact that dinner was provided on the evening we arrived. The food was very good indeed. The room was excellently equipped with high quality toiletries etc. Nice fruit salad for breakfast.”
