Located in Acharacle, Loch Shiel Hotel has a garden and a shared lounge. Featuring a restaurant, the property also has a public bar. The accommodations provides free WiFi. Really can't fault anything - in fact this was one the best stays I've had across the UK. Staff were friendly and accomodating, room was great temperature, shower was spot on and the breakfast was great. They even had me a dinner prepared, despite my late arrival. Definitely be rebooking next time we have work up Mallaig way.
Brackenbrae Holiday Cottage is located in Acharacle. Guests staying at this holiday home have access to a fully equipped kitchen.Parking is available. The holiday home consists of 3 separate bedrooms.... The cottage was lovely spacious we had all we need it beautiful location and clean
The village is in a very pretty area and within easy reach of beaches, a castle, and pleasant country walks. Can recommend Ardnamurchan generally but remember WiFi signal is very patchy and it rains a lot! Also you definitely have to know how to drive safely on very small single track roads. Not for the faint hearted!
Acharacle is in the heart of the Ardnamurchan peninsula in the Scottish Highlands. It is a wonderfully peaceful setting and is conveniently located for day trips to the Isles of Skye and Mull. The restaurant at Loch Shiel Hotel is excellent and the staff are very friendly.
Have travelled Scotland extensively but first time in this area. Knew it was going to be nice but it was even better. I went with camera gear and was out at 5am around the area and it was a joy to behold. Would easily go back to explore further.
It was a beautiful and peaceful part of Scotland and well worth a visit. We saw a lot of wildlife - seals, deer and golden eagles. The beaches were quiet and unspoilt. The lighthouse was also well worth a visit as was Castle Tiorarm. The pub at Glenuig was excellent for meals and location. Just don't expect to get anywhere very quickly as the roads are narrow with passing places - but that is part of the charm - and you won't see that many cars anyway
Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. Spacious room with comfortable bed and excellent bathroom facilities, Tea and coffee making facilities and good TV reception. Bar, good choice of beers, lagers and malt whisky. Dining menu could be more expansive ,but, breakfast had a wide choice of food. Acharacle well positioned for travelling around and has Post Office and well stocked local shop. Good side trip to Castle Tioran, access at low tide.
This is a very new well done property with friendly owners but is quite a way from most things 45 minute drive for fuel and shopping) but if that is what you want it is ideal. The rooms are lovely but the carpets I was paranoid I was going to mark ( even though I had taken my boots off!) Lovely breakfast
Exceptional property - beautiful location, stunning property with well thought out facilities in room. Delicious breakfast and friendly and helpful hosts - not to forget the lovely, comical dog :-) We had a most enjoyable stay - perfect for visiting the beautiful Peninsula. We had lovely meals at both the Aryundle Centre (just opposite the property - offering a ange of home-cooked meals) and also at the Strontian Hotel overlooking the Loch. Highly recommended.
The location is ideal - right in the centre of the village of Acharacle, next to the store. The caravan was clean, decently-equipped and good value for money. Off-road parking. The Cafe Tioram, a couple of minutes' walk along the road, is a great place for breakfast or lunch.
Exceptionally clean and tidy . Good welcome pack. Great view and good hotel near bye
Very nice hotel with a restaurant
Better than a five star Hotel
