Located in Acharacle in the Highlands region, Riverview Cottage has a garden. The vacation home comes with a TV and 2 bedrooms. We arrived a little early and Eilidh was more than happy for us to get settled in right away. When we got inside she showed us around and left us to it. A wee fruit loaf, a bottle of wine and some milk for tea was waiting on the dining table for us. Log fire was also set up and ready to go if it was cold. The cottage is immaculate and super accessible for everyone. Kitchen has everything you can think of and everything that you need. Ample parking outside the cottage on the compound for two large cars. We had to leave early due to family emergency but Eilidh was so helpful and lovely offering to phone the doctor for us. I would definitely recommend this cottage for the quiet peaceful rest we got and the beautiful hills/scenery that the cottage backs onto. Word to those who can't live without Internet or phone, the cottage is a black spot so no phone signal or Internet. But you do get a signal in Acharacle there is an Internet cafe. Would also recommend trying the hotel/pub in Acharacle for dinner. The steak and chips and pork, sage and onion burger were delicious. Locals are also really friendly they talk away to you. Love the fact the cottage is at the dead end of the road. There is noone around so it is completely quiet and peaceful. Also word of advice, it's mostly single track road so pay attention to were passing places are because it's a winding road that isn't travelled slow.
Located in Acharacle in the Highlands region, The Coach House features a garden. The vacation home has a TV and 2 bedrooms. Beautiful setting and stunning scenery - the Coach House was very comfortable and with all mod cons required for a relaxing break. No broadband or mobile signal made for a real break from the outside world.
Featuring a garden and barbecue facilities, Salen Cottage provides accommodations in Acharacle with free WiFi and lake views. The property features garden and sea views. This cottage is located at the best place one can imagine - right at the harbour bay!! The telescope to watch wildlife came very handy!! It was really cold and rainy when we arrived, but the wooden fired stove heated up the place quite quickly and gave a very nice atmosphere.
This is a very new well done property with friendly owners but is quite a way from most things 45 minute drive for fuel and shopping) but if that is what you want it is ideal. The rooms are lovely but the carpets I was paranoid I was going to mark ( even though I had taken my boots off!) Lovely breakfast
The scenery beyond the sight was glorious. A ruined castle by the water made a lovely walk and the drive around the loch was very pretty if slow going. Very polite drivers on that road was an added bonus.
Handy local shop with good variety of food and other essentials. Loved Loch Shiel famous for Bonnie Prince Charlie sailing on it to raise his standard at Glenfinnan. Castle Tioram, a stronghold of the MacDonalds is well worth a visit, along a narrow single track road, for the setting alone. Built in the 13th century by the MacDonald, Lord of the Isles. It is situated in a strategic location on a rocky tidal island of Eilean Tioram at the confluence of Loch Moidart and the River Shiel, occupying the whole summit of the rock in Moidart.
I stayed at Mingarry Park recently whilst showing my Swedish Girlfriend the wonders of Scotland. We both work on luxury superyachts so have an eye for fine service and we very much enjoyed the service provided at Mingarry Park. There were very nice touches in our room, my favourite being the binoculars to watch the deer. The balcony was perfect for watching the sunset across the hills and sip prosecco. We had dinner in the restaurant which was a very homely atmosphere with a wonderful slated fireplace in the centre. The food was local and superb and we'll certainly be back!
